| the loss got me thinking today.
When we lost in perp last year. I felt that was it. No chance of the hubcap (I didn't care too much), but last year Wigan were superb. You couldn't see them dropping points ever. When hudds beat them, it was shocking. Similarly Leeds started poorly last season and never really caught up. Saints were like a steam engine through the season always gaining speed to OT.
The question is, is there anyone so far this season that looks like a super human threat to Wire winning a Sky Sports sponsored title? or does everyone look beatable (we have already beaten Leeds, Wigan and Saints)?
TLicon_biggrin.gifR- Confidence levels still high or is there a seemingly unbeatable threat in super league?
(This is not a dig at any other team, especially not the Pie faces)

| wigan lost against a poorish Bradford team last year early on from a comfortable position.... hardly unbeatable.
we have played badly on 3 occasions this season already... winning one against HKR and losing 2.
its wide open.

| I think the thing with your lot is can you back up 3 big wins on the trot to win the grand final? You are more suited to the CC that you have lots of time to prepare for every match and gear yourselves up but in the past you just dont seem to be able to keep that high intensity of a big win week after week like teams need to do in the play - offs. You will definately be up there all the way through the regular season but the real test will be the play-offs, its a whole different ball game to regular season rounds & challenge cup rounds.

| There is no team which is head and shoulders dominant above the rest this year, not us, not Wigan, there is no power team in the league at the moment in the way that Leeds and Saints were the power teams a couple of years ago. But I think us and Wigan are about the best.
It has got more like the NRL now, in the days when teams like Brisbane, Canterbury, Roosters or Melbourne were in their prime, every year they would have a few losses to sides like Wests, Cronulla, N Queensland etc, it was never an 'upset' in the NRL.

I can see where you are coming from. We do not have a track record for the play offs. I think, just like beating saints, it is a habit tat starts when you do it once. I think if we win the first week of the Playoffs, the grand final is our's to lose. IF we start as bad as we did last year. We can rarely get up for it.
To play so hard and lose, kills morale.

| It's good for the game to have so many teams that could win it.
Huddersfield are probably a better team than Leeds.... i bet no one saw that coming 2 years ago.

Not sure about that a full strength Leeds would beat Huddersfield

| Haven't Wire done the same as last year in beating Wigan one week then losing to Catalans the following fixture?
It's succesive hard games that teams can't get over.
Wigan went to Hudds and it was a very physical game. Next week v Wire again physical with Wigan nowhere near getting a win.
After that game Wire can't raise for the next week going down to Catalans. The Dragons are at Wigan next week. Interesting that one!
A big game again for Wire next week at Huddersfield. Looking forward to seeing that result.
Wire seem to have a more or less settled team with King and Atkins the only major losses.
Saints have their best half backs unavailable but the kids are doing a good job.
Hudds are fully fit.
Wigan's injured players are now coming back. Finch started last week, J Tomkins back and Richards back v Catalans. Once Richards is back that's it until June when Fielden will be back and by then Hock may return. Once Wigan get a settled team then they will challenge once again.
Situation now the three leaders are two points ahead of Wigan who with Cas have a game in hand.
All to play for for five clubs I reckon.
Wire, Wigan, Saints, Hudds & maybe Leeds.

| Last season Wigan chucked the game away at Bradford and also lost at home to Quins.
I know Phil Clarke gets some stick on here but he said we would lose when we weren't expecting it...How right he was...
