Yep, agreed. Disappointing, but we can play a awful lot better than that.

we we're due a flat performance, and got one (except for the first 12 minutes)
saints were far better and deserved the win, on watching the game back, a couple of things occured, silverwood wasnt AS bad as i thought at the match, a couple of mistakes but they happen (although he should of used the video ref more) and i thought roby was excellent for them in attack and defence.
i dont think any of our big players performed to their usual standards last night, so we can only get better!!

one last observation.. i know it was wet and there was a lot of dropped ball but gaz carvells ball retention is shocking at times this season, usually a couple of knock ons a match lately.

Need to improve our discipline big time next week. It was awful last night.

Alot people writing us off which I like because if we get to 3 week we will be underdogs.

Smith can turn things around fast.

i was wracking my brain last night thinking of the last time someone lost first ewek and went on to win the GF.

I am so happy it was smith!

We lost our first game in 2008 too, Saints blitzed us in the opening game by a cricket score and we still won the final!

I had a feeling that was true.

I was telling my friend from the sent ellans that yesterday.

Neither of us could remember.

I was thinking i could clearly remember Leeds losing towarrington in 2006 but then i rememebered Saints won. : (

We all know Smith is better at knockout rugby. We needed to get the 'come down form Wembley' game out of the way. At least we had this game to do it.

Got to say that I can have no grumbles with the result (unfortunately).

Maybe we started off too well.
The first 12 minutes we were totally dominant but then it just went downhill rapidly.

Thought there were a couple of bad calls - particularly the tackle on Riley before the Flannery try but it wouldn't have changed the result.

Though Carvell had a very good game (when he kept hold of the ball) and Moz/Westwood were their usual selves.

Difficult to put my finger on what went wrong, but congrats to Matty Smith and Jamie Foster. They played very very well.

I'm really happy with that performance. Up until then I would have said the title was between us (Wigan) and Wire.

Now I think it's between us and Stains (and I think you could have caused us the most trouble).
