Is it usual for your Home fans to be mixed in with Away fans at big games?

Spotted a few handbags yesterday but nothing major.

Most of the verbals were taken in good spirit but some other sets of supporters may not take to kindly to them?

So every other week the Away fans by chance all choose the same stand to watch the game.

If your not going to post a sensible reply don't bother.

The West Stand is always made up of some home fans aswell, no matter what the game. They normally chose to stand towards the left side of it.

Yeah I noticed that at previous matches but yesterday they were right mixed in and I think a few had too much to drink... the lady steward look s**t scared when two blokes started pushing around

as it happens, i saw saints fans in all 4 stands last night

I spied 4 Wigan fans aswell

It only gets filled like that for the games of Saints, Leeds, Wigan. Sometimes Hull, When we paly on a sunday the away fans usually congregate at the top in the middle, we have the 2 sides. It's good that home and away fans can mix, i can only recall one 'incodent' in that stand, and that was with Hull 'football' Fans. It's usually alright.

Great following by Saints last night admittedly it's only down the road and we took 7k to KR but it was impressive considering the SF a week before. Saints always bring the most.

I stand in the West Stand every game as do a few others, primarily at the side next to the South Stand - always recognise the same faces.

I prefer the view from behind the sticks and I'd rather stand than sit.

Normally the away fans don't overlap with us but obviously with the numbers Saints bring every year they always do. Wigan normally do, although rarely to the same extent as Saints, and when things are going well for them Leeds, Bradford and the Hull clubs bring a fair few although not always and never as many as Saints or Wigan.

Last night I got there ten minutes before kick off because I'd been at work so no time for a pint and I just stood on the aisle close to my normal spec because it was chocker. It was completely mixed Saints and Wire and there were a few verbals dished out from "can't handle their ale" types on both sides. It was all handbags and frankly a bit embarrassing. A lot of ale was getting lashed during the second half too (I got showered a couple of times - though I didn't mind when celebrating our tries!) I've got no idea who threw it, but it happened about five or six times and people were getting angry, stewards were getting involved and one lad looked like he was getting chucked out at one point, although it happened another two or three times after that as well.

No idea why anyone would do that in all honesty. If I spend £3 on a pint it's because I want to drink it!

Indeed. I used to have one and stopped buying season tickets when they stopped selling them.

How, did you see them leaving early ?

There are always some opposition fans in the East and the North stands too. Nothing wrong with fans mixing as long as they know how to behave.

I was in that end and I saw three plastic glasses with beer in them were thrown. There was banter (which is great) but throwing beer or any object is not on. The stewards were useless. Saw a few people "in conversation" with the stewards and police after the game.

Problem we all have is a lack of respect in society, in so much that people will often ignore even the most reasonable request from a steward, never mind when that situation becomes inflamed through excessive alcohol.

It will become an issue when the stewards need to be replaced by an increased police presence, and we all have to pay the additional cost.

Whenever i've been to Knowsley Road there are usually a few saints fans in the away end...

last night i was sat in the north stand, and was surrounded by st helens fans, which at the start of the match was fine, but after 15 second and our first penalty i was being abused by some large lout behind me, his attitude was disgraceful and for me to feel worried in my own stadium about being hurt, as at one point he threatened to hurt me pyhsically. The man was around 39/40 and i am only 19, i said im not being abused in my own stadium and he said to me, just wait until you get outside then and see what i do to you.

i dont mind being surrounded by saints fans... or even being taunted as he would never have the cajones to do anything, my problem is, how is a team with so much success, followed by such bitter and twisted fans. never will i hate wigan as much as st helens for that very reason, and i really hate wigan! granted not all of them are like that, but a very large majority!

did you report that to a steward?

it was right at the end of the game mate, so i just laughed at him and walked away... wound him up much more than rising to the sad get!

Good on you, you should repeot to club though, just to avoid it happening again.,

i may actually do that, considering we were promised that there would be no saints fans near us other than those in the away end!

Get a grip. The incident is over and no harm is done.

Fair enough the fella in question was undoubtedly a bellend but a grass is just as bad.

B####cks!!!! The poster said that they felt physically threatened. The next spectator might be a 35 year old whos had one to many who decides to do something about it there and then causing other innocent fans to get caught up in the agro or (as in the case of my daughter) a 17 year old North Stand season ticket holder female who feel so threatened they end up leaving.

People are very quick to critise the club and the steards of not doing anything about this that or the other, BUT, if they aint told about it what are they meant to do.

Must admit , cant see how you could have been promised this. There is no mechanism that I am aware of for finding out what team a person who walks up to the ticket window and purchases a single or group of north stand tickets supports. As many said in the run up to the game, it was easier for a number of saints fans to acquire tickets from the HJ as they work in/around Warrington.

As regards your orginal issue..TELL THE CLUB ABOUT IT.

Yes,tell the club. It's not "grassing" it's reporting an incident so that the club can take action against trouble causers as and when they see fit. No one should be threatened or intimidated at an RL game,although you usually find that the tools doing the threatening are with a large group and want to make themselves look tough as some totally misguided act of bravado. Report them to stewards and let's see how tough they feel when they get ejected from the match and hopefully banned from the ground!
