Can't say I was inspired last night.

I have to agree. We looked very flat and still look unable to break a defence down. How many chances from ten yards did we have and fail to score? We can only get better.

They didn't really end there "hoodoo" did they? they won a friendly here last year.

I don't know who is charge of their defence this year but we noticed - even though we played their reserves - that they were very well drilled. They moved up very quick, almost impossible to break their line.

Reserves hmmmmmm. Thay had a near full strength team playing

Don't recall that one - Hull KR beat us at home in last season's pre-season friendly and no record of a Wigan game in our archives.

We definately beat you in the friendly last year.

They definitely did, I was there they played quite a strong squad and we played mainly the reserve squad.

Skents and you call yourself a journo! Wigan wore their famous pink jerseys and we put the second team out and everyone was complaining because it cost £12

Though it was in preperation for the 2009, the friendly was played in 2008.

It wasn't a reserve grade fixture it was a pre season friendly fixture....your not getting out of it that easy Gary....

I'm sure they'll be on sale all season but due to the website being down i'm unable to check although i remember Asda (Birchwood) and Tesco selling them along with our home tops.

This was all part of Jimmy's grand plan for our 1st team to be totally fresh and ready come the start of SL14. Turned out that we were totally undercooked and weeks behind everyone else in preperation. JL deserved the push for this alone.

I think thats the point he's making. I seem to remember him being on the Wigan board last week talking about Leigh.

Both sides in the games against Leigh and Wire have kept the opposition out for long periods even though alot of the time they were camped on Wigans line.

Good signs going into the season and longer term if we can just stop making handling errors.

Wigan's defence was excellent and we didn't show the guile to beat it. One thing I really hope though is that this season the refs are not going to allow the slowing of the ptb that Allibert did on Wenesday. Ruins the game for me and cuts down the chances of decent moves
