Well we wouldn't loan out all 3 as it would leave us with no other hookers. Clark is obviously earmarked as no 1 hooker, Higham can't have too many seasons left anyway and I'd be happy with Myler, Higham and Dwyer competing for the second hooker spot, with a loan spell for at least one of them and Myler being able to play in the halves if we have a crisis.

| Higham was always a hooker apart from when he very first started out as a nipper (see his testimonial brochure).
If we end up with Myler as a hooker defending in the middle of the field, Lord help us. Can anyone REALLY imagine him making 30+ tackles against an opposing pack?

That is exactly my view mark.
He simply isn't broad enough to be a forward. He would likely fatigue in defence.

Well I'd hardly say that Rob Burrow is built like Frank Bruno, and Burrow's been playing "hooker" for a while, now

I must've seen another midget in a Leeds shirt packing down next to Jamie Peacock, and regularly going to acting half when Leeds had possession, then.

| The fact is, there aren't many players that fit ONE role, anymore. They tend to "morph" into other roles, as the game/sets of 6 progresses. e.g. Hodgson, when we didn't have the ball, he's a full back, when we do, he's acting as an extra half back, sometimes twice in a set of 6.
If you can't see that Burrow has been playing (at times) as a hooker in the last couple of seasons, you need to spend your Sunday afternoons across the carpark, and do your weekly shop in Tesco's whilst the games are on.
Could Myler act as a hooker (when we have the ball)? OF COURSE HE COULD. When we don't have the ball, he lines up on the periphery. Not hard, is it. After all, Briers did this throughout his career. We have an extra prop on the field in any case, with Harrison, as he's only a loose forward in name.

| It seems Myler isn't too enthusiastic about his potential move to Humberside....I always feel a bit sorry for the Hull clubs in that no British player who comes from outside of the city, ever seem too keen to go and join them, because the place is located in the ar$e end of nowhere.
It probably explains why Hull KR have to fill their squad with foreigners and Hull are probably having to pay an OTT salary to a crock like Pryce.

Myler to Hull KR, Bridge to 6, Brett Morris to Centre, Joel on the wing, jobs a good 'un what a right edge that would be!

Saints problems last season shows that you need more than two specialist half-backs to get you through an entire campaign.

So you would have both your halfbacks and your hooker defending on the edges outside the centres?
Or are you proposing a defence team and a offence team like the NFL?

| No, I'm saying accommodate Myler to the best defensive line available.
It's not as if Myler has a non-existant defensive game, anyway. He (and we) would cope.
It's worth a punt.
One things for sure, we need to make a decision about his future, pdq. One year left. Do we offer him a new contract, or get a few grand for him. The lad's a good player, contrary to popular belief.

Why do Rovers need another half back? They don't have any back-up now that Craig Hall has signed for Wakefield. There is a reserve grade player, Matty Marsh coming thro but he is not ready yet.
Its my experience when the phrase 'interested in signing' is used by the BBC it means talks are on-going and yes there is 'something in it' as you say.
As for it being a 'great career' move playing for HKR', well that is moot, but looking at the bigger picture I doubt very much Myler would be prepared to move to 'ull, or be prepared to travel (its a 3hr or more round trip), seeing how his missus holds a high profile job in Manchester. I reckon Salford or Widnes will step in for him.

| Like, like FMC I also heard it weeks ago before it went viral on the board, I wouldn't post it because I couldn't verify the source myself but I did put a post a hint that nobody got about TS not being able to sort his kicking game out but perhaps it could be by Chester...!
