| Big strong and quick, possibly the quickest we have.
Would he go better on the wing, on the face of it he ticks all the boxes

| Must admit I'd prefer him on the wing.....he's fast and strong and is better at catching a bad pass than at giving a good pass..
Perhaps put Ratchford as his centre next year?

| Quote ="Rob Wire"When we signed Ryan Atkins i was pretty bullish that we had signed someone with massive potential who would improve even further under Tony Smith, you can't really judge someone in their first season as its a new club and new team mates, he rounded off last year with a top performance at wembley and i was looking forward to seeing him carry on that kind of form this year.
=#804040=#FFFF00From the games ive seen this season you would have to say that overall he's been a bit dissapointing, he's far too quiet and doesn't get involved enough, also his decision making can be a bit iffy where he quite often seems to take a lot of wrong options.
He's a frustrating type of player given all the atributes he has like pace, power, size and when he's on his game he's a very elusive runner. Maybe he's saving his best for the end of the season, i hope so as we need a lot more from him.'"

| The way that we've played for much of this year, when King & Atkins have both been fit, and we've had a first choice backline to choose from, those two on the left have been pretty interchangeable during a game. Atkins has at times played wing.
I think he's developing as a centre, he's just had an off month, nothing more.
He looks like he needs a rest to me. Be interesting what our team is this weekend, backline anyhow.

| i personally think Atkins was overrated at Wakey and he only gets in the national side as there is no one outstanding in the centres for us.
And speaking from a personal pov he is one of those people who if 99.9% of the people on here had his talent and athletism would work a lot harder to achieve what he could potentially achieve. As people said he has all the attributes but lacks work rate and effort.

| Took his tries well, and looked dangerous (as did his winger) every time he had the ball.
Well done Ryan (and King, too)

Joel needed a couple of goes though.
I thought Atkins played really well today. He put some strong runs and great tackles in. Him and King were taking the mick out of Bradford's right all afternoon.

| Joel would have scored in the first half, Raynor was never catching him. Also, had he not been ankle tapped, he was going full length again after a sensational ball from his big littler brother.

| Ryan was very good today and for me has been throughout the season. A few quiet performances now and then but overall a great player.

| He generally plays better with King. They were to much of a handful for 'Our' Van and the formerly rugby player known as Paul Sykes.

| Raynor is quicker than Joel. No doubting that, if Raynor hadn't have slipped for Joel's 2nd try he would have caught him, nearly did anyway. And Ah Van and Sykes were extremely poor and Atkins and Kind knew just how and where to attack. Imagine if Raynor was your winger? He'd have 20 tries this season lol.

| I prefer to imagine Yow Yeh as our winger but whatever floats your boat.
Atkins is very good generally against the less organised teams, he seems to struggle on occasions to make an impact against organised defences like Wigan where just brute strength and speed may not be enough.
Very good centre though, and not sure I would swap him for any other english ones outside of Wire.

How does that work, one printed A4 sheet of paper and the brand new chinese ink cartridge will be empty!
Good to see Atkins hit some form, touch wood its the kind of confidence booster he needed.

He's been in form all season, it's a myth. Only the last couple of weeks has he dropped off, like we're seeing from Westwood now.
Wigan fans think very highly of Carmont, best centre in SL etc. Well, if you look at this, and stats are no more than something to look at, Atkins stacks up very well indeed ...

| I watch Atkins week in, week out and he is easily worth his place in the best three quarter line in Super League. Remember Huddersfield away - he got slammed; Wigan in cup - he gets slammed. People just have to find a scapegoat for when we lose rather than accepting it happens in sport.

Whose made him a scapegoat for any of our defeats ? I think you must have posted on the wrong thread, search out the "Ryan Atkins is to blame for our defeat" thread and post the above on there
Its just your post looks a bit out of place on here where people are saying that he has all the potential in the world but he just needs to be a bit more consistent.

| Stats are a bit misleading though. Bridge looked a little overweight pre season and has played some games at 1, 6 and 13. Anyone with 2 eyes can see that Bridge is a better centre than atkins. If he can work on finding his winger a bit more and a bit less of the touchie, he'll be on his way.
He has improved though from this time a couple of years ago, I hope his development continues but he'll never be a top class bracket centre, he hasn't it upstairs
