For most games over the last few season the south stand has sold out or been very close to selling out. Not hitting capacity is usually due to a lack of following support rather than Warrington fans "not turning up in number".

Even when there are very low crowd figures (say 9000ish) its usually big gaps in the seats and the away end.

Brian Brady ! Have you relented yet & bought a season ticket ? Come in the South Stand with me then you don't need to keep jumping up & down when people are going to the bar, then the bog 20 minutes later . I thought i was sat in the middle of a Mexican wave at Widnes last Sunday !

Exactly my point the south stand. Always full or close to it yet the north and east are near enoughempty? Why is this? Is it becase people prefer standing and the atmosphere that goes with it? Or is it because they chose the cheapest possible option?

This is a genuine question on what people think by the way.

Surely you are a concession now ? That's only £13.50 for the South Stand.

When you're in the south you look around the east is maybe half full but everyone is sctttered, the north may have about 100-200 in it and the north east corner is empty. I'm just thinking of ways the club could attract people to the seated areas. The only thing I can think of is free ticketsto schools and such or lower the price.

I think Wire are missing a trick with pulling in more home supporters. I read an authoritative report yesterday (Daily Mail) that 750,000 Romanians came over from Calais last week, and 2.3 million Bulgarians flew over from Sofia to Heathrow yesterday. Now, I am not stupid, I do realise that initially they will be very busy begging in Stockton Heath, nicking lecy cables from the track, and having NHS replacement hip operations. But surely they represent a fantastic opportunity for us to recruit new supporters ?

I too prefer to stand.

I would only go in the North if I could pick from the exact block of seats that I wanted. I don't like the view lower down and I hate viewing the game from the ends. In the South, you can move around and pick the best spot. Standing doesn't bother me.

It would be interesting to know how many Wire season tickets Father Christmas delivered to our Eastern European cousins so they would be guaranteed seats when the season kicks off .

I find it strange that we went from having more standing room than seating room at Wilderspool to the opposite at the HJ. East should have been built as a home standing area IMO.

That is the worst thing any club can do, see Bradford/Huddersfield/Keighley etc etc. it is a short term fix which causes major headaches down the line.

I've been banging on for years saying how we should be reaching out to our Polish brethren.

Whilst its obviously more usual to have a home standing at an end I like the South stand which effectively should give us a 'home end' and sustained vocal support for the length of the pitch.

I know giving away tickets isn't what we want and it not something I would agree with. I'm just thinking of ways to make the ground full. I'd say make seating £20 and standing £15. Either that (as I know you can't just come up with figures I think sound appealing) or we go back down the advertising road again. Which I still think should be better.

I mean... Coming up to the new season now. Shouldn't there be Billboards telling everyone in Warrington this? The fist game is against saints for crying out loud. It should be everywhere you look!

Agree with you on that. Big push needed as we get closer to the opening round.

For away games have an 'away game season ticket'

Discount ticket from usual price plus coach travel, have a Catalans add on for those that want to go to France.

The ground looked great for the Samoa v NZ game . Be great to get that for the majority of games.

I like this idea. Buy a Away Voucher from the club the more games you buy the cheaper it is.

1 - 5 games £4 off the admission price
6 - 9 games £5 off the admission price
10 or more games £7 off the admission price.

Each club that sells an Away S/T gets a share of the money with the Lions share going to the Home club. Just buy the amount of Vouchers you want from from your club and then swap them through the season for proper tickets.

According to the Saints board, there is high demand for tickets for the Saints match. And it is the first game of the season,.... following on from the WC,.... plus several new faces to interest the faithful. So despite the fact it's Thursday and on the telly I am hopeful that we will get a big crowd.

How about 15,000 ?

It'll sell out I have no doubt.

I think we would get bigger crowds if we wen't out and promoted the HJ to the other SL club supporters a bit more. It wouldn't be difficult, so for instance for the Saints game;

I enjoy autobiographies, and almost got Briers one at Christmas - am now delighted I didn't. It sounds horrendous.
