Getting by on a year by year deal, he had his best year since 2013.

Likewise Cooper's rubbish from 17, He upped his game, too.

Why get so upset when your past predictions are pointed out to you....

Plenty of mine turned out to be ballsocks.

I can't be bothered searching through all my past posts but I remember a few:

- I was a sceptic of appointing Steve Price, thought he was a poor choice with a failure behind him at St George and would struggle here.
- Not sure if I posted this thought on the forum, but I didn't think we should have kept Westwood on for 2018. For what its worth, I also wouldn't have kept him next year either.
- I predicted we would finish 6th in 2018 and not make any finals.
- I thought our pack was not up to it, hence this thread before last season. Like lefty I had Hughes down in the category of players like Russell and Westerman who hadn't delivered what we hoped. I thought the same of Lineham too...
- I was a big fan of Kevin Brown at Widnes and was pleased when we signed him, thought he would be one of the better players in SL during his time with us.

Safe to assume if you read any prediction from me that it's not worth putting money on.

Useful insight into how tough the coaching lark can be...our predictions have no impact whatsoever, the coach predicts which players will do well and stakes his career on it.
Hopefully no one on here takes themselves too seriously.

Sally started it so I thought it to be an interesting reflect of the season to see our initial thoughts early season.
Nothing wrong with a player proving us wrong....in fact that's everything right about it.

On this basis it's yes, our pack is good enough. We competed in the top four and made the Challenge cup final.

He’s world class for England when he doesn’t feel the need to lead by being the one who can speak to the ref while his adrenaline makes that 80 minutes of moaning.

The pack is good enough, although I can see why the thread was started given Coops & Hughes 2017 seasons, I’m glad we have another recognised 9 in the squad, adds balance.

I’ll take some convincing that Tasi is good enough to be our 4th prop, so that’s probably where we need to look to next. Would be good if we had 2 or 3 under 21’s coming through adding depth, we could then potentially pool Tasi & Sita’s salary to bring in a better interchange prop.

Tasi is a step up from George King however on the very last of their form King was better.
Given on option of King or Sita...I'd have kept King in a heartbeat.
Sita has by and large escaped too much bagging because of his injuries...I'll be watching him in 2019 however he like all gets a clean slate.

What? There was a lot wrong in 2017 and it will take time to fix it. 2018 was a good year but we were as far away from winning the GF as we had ever been in the last 8 years.

I would be careful dredging up old predictions as those in glass houses....

Depends what the question is, "good enough" for what? If competitive to make the play offs and the challenge cup semi final, then yes.
If "good enough" to win a GF and the challenge cup final, then no.
Still all to play for, but there's room for a lot of improvement of late.

How late can we leave this improvement though? It's definitely there but in 2017 we left it until the middle 8s!
I'd love to think we covering our hand but it's plainly obvious we aren't.

Who knows, it may never happen.

We'll never know. There could have been a real good prop or two who didn't want to come, or a second row with size pace to burn.
What you want to buy is never always immediately available.
