| What's everyone's predictions for Salford in 2016?
Will we make the top 8 before the split or will we be lingering in the bottom 8's fighting for our lives again?
For what its worth I think we'll be very similar to last year. I'm saying: 11th before split. 3rd in Middle Eights (survival).
I think our squad has less quality and start names than last year but has more grafters and professionals. Gone are the mercenaries and thankfully the Kiwi clique at the club now seems to have been broken up.
I think it will be harder in the middle 8's though as Championship clubs will now know better how to prepare for it throughout the season. Leigh look stronger with new signings and more experience. Sheffield are now full time as well. Halifax better financial grounding now and London more adapted to Championship life. Bradford will always be there or there abouts. With this in mind id ideally like to avoid middle 8's but I can't see us making top 8.
Fixtures are out now and season probably couldnt have started worse. Tough fixture away at Hull FC who if we have any chance of making top 8 we will have to compete with. This is followed by our annual second game of season drubbing by Saints at home in front of TV cameras. With East stand being closed and Sky Cameras pointing directly at it whilst we get a drubbing it wont bode well for any wavering fans wondering whether they want to follow the team this year.
Anyway, after this we'll hopefully string a few wins together and get some momentum. Here's to 2016!

| Making predictions of a full season before the full squad has been assembled is, even for you, slightly excessive...
...and somewhat pointless at this stage.

| But 'are kid' there's never been a better time to make a prediction!
We didn't finish recruiting until August last year - Muitua and Thornley will answer for that.
Go on, give us all your predictions folks!
(Ignore 'are kid' aka 'The Butcher' - he needs to reserve his cynicism for twitter!)

| Now you're just being pedantic. You know very well I was referring to the full squad pre-season.
So I'm presuming all this new time on your hands means we'll have to put up with more of your drivel than normal?
I predict we'll finish first, stroll through the Challenge Cup, and score a record victory in the Grand Final against Wakefield.
Predictions at this stage are pointless opinion based on very little or no evidence. At least predicting our fate a few games into the season would be based on the evidence up until that point.
I've written in bullet points for your easier reading pleasure, and for a bit of nostalgia.

| The championship after 2016. Unfortunately your club is a complete joke and the laughing stock of the game, run my a complete buffoon. Throwing money at players like Rangi Chase was always a car crash waiting to happen. You simply can't buy a team.

| We will surprise a few people,so that's 11th then !
Seriously,if you have Sheens in charge of both recruitment and the playing side of things, you'd have to hope and assume that we'll punch above our weight.
I think we'll be in the mix for top 8

| Unless there's a few more "better quality" players coming out way I'd take a punt for 11/12th and then the million pound game in the middles.......

| Much rather people predict us to finish 11th/12th than win the whole thing (Phil Clarke). I'm more than confident we'll finish higher in 2016 than we did in 2016.

| Well that Yorkshire loving Lancashire especially Salford hating Danny Lockwood on Backchat Premier Sports predicts Wakefield won't have it so bad next season Salford will finish below them in the cellar.
Only at Salford can we dream of a Man City type ownership then it somehow happens and people predict us to come last.

| I enjoy people writing us off, let them I haven't got high hopes for next season but everyone predicted us to finish bottom the year we finished 5th. I reckon 10/11th in all honesty

| In all honesty I'd see 7th or 8th, can't see Cas keep reaching the heights that they have done and get the feeling that one of the big 4 will struggle next year, if I was a gambler I'd take an each way bet on Catalan being there or there abouts (if they can keep Carney fit and out of strife).

| we know exactly WHERE we will finish in 2016 at the end of the standard season .
at the AJ Bell Stadium..........
About 9.30Pm on July 22nd at Home against Hull FC
when we had a ' mega bucks side ' the pundits had us finishing 6th - 7th, and we finished 10th - 11th
Now with a 'Lidl- Priced ' squad I'm more comfortable with being written off as basement fodder.
It's a while before the 5th Feb 2016 , longer til next July .

Some people say it is better value at Lidl.

| I think I'll reserve judgment until all is unveiled with what Sheen's has up his sleeve with other signings. Imho I feel that better quality in a playing sense has gone out than what's been replaced so far. But Sheen's is no mug and will know the quality of player he needs. I believe they're saving a slice of the cap in case of the dreaded misfortune of reaching the middle 8's again, which to me sounds sensible.

| I'm just happy if we have a team who want to play for Salford. If we finish in the bottom four again, then that's fine and we have to show that we are good enough to stay up.
