| Think Gareth Hock will lose a lot of money if he plays. Will Leigh compensate him ?

| Don't think we can afford not to challenge this, hock was brought in for the 8's IMO and it is possible we will be meeting you again for a much higher prize

| There's nothing to challenge.
The least that will happen to Hock is that he will forfeit any future payments under his compromise agreement.
His advisors will know this so they'd have to sue Salford for his money and,if he's breached the agreement, they know they've no chance of collecting.
It's nothing to do with Leigh other than they could be accused of inciting him to breach the agreement.
If Neil Barker says he's certain to play, though,I bow to his superior information !

| The Leigh chairman was on the radio saying if he's fit to play and selected he's breaching his contract with them if he doesn't play.

True - therein lies the problem of mutually exclusive contract terms

| Purely my opinion as a Leyther, but I reckon both Ollie Wilkes and Tom Spencer, neither of whom figured at Sheffield, should come into contention before Hock, who currently looks a long way from match fitness.

| Alan: put against that the motivation Hock has in playing us.
Mind you, your coaching team will be balancing that with the very good chance of a brain-f@rt when he sees marwan and past team mates.

| A statement from Leigh reads: “Following recent media speculation surrounding Gareth Hock's availability for the Ladbrokes Challenge Cup Fifth Round tie against Salford Red Devils on Saturday 18 April 2015, Leigh Centurions and Gareth have sought legal advice and on the basis of that advice consider that Gareth will be available for selection for the match.
"The club are looking forward to what promises to be an exciting cup tie for both teams.”
A spokesman for the Rugby Football League state Hock is registered to Leigh Centurions and they have no plans to get involved in the issue.
What a decisive,forceful ruling body,The RFL is.
Surely they could arbitrate on this one?

They are useless generally but,on this one,I don't think they have anything to arbitrate on,and don't want to touch it with a barge pole.
The facts seem crystal clear. He's signed a compromise agreement which in itself can't physically stop him playing but can set out the financial consequences of doing so. I don't think Salford will need to pursue him through the courts,I think he will pursue us for the agreed payoff on his contract. Can't see him getting very far !

Surely the governing body, has a duty,to prevent clubs and individuals from charging head on into a potential legal argument, thus costing one of them an expense that they can't afford.
I suggest they are staying away from this one because they are timid and totally out of their depth, with no individuals capable of a firm decision.

| If Hock plays does he risk compromising any future payments owed him by Salford?
If that's the case then you'd think that the Docs been hyping this as he'd like to save a quid or two.
As for the RFL getting involved, they should as it's potentially damaging too RL, but they won't because they are as we all know spineless.
I'm sure that if Hock does play he will be targeted for wind ups and sledging, I'd be very surprised if he doesn't get sin binned or sent off. Pity that Patterson isn't playing as that is one fight that would be worth the price of admission alone.
