Noticed for some reason no Salford player shortlisted again, players shortlisted have been on TV a lot more than our lot and just maybe that could have something to do with it.

I don't know, but could the fact that they are generally better than anything we've got have anything to do with it?

Other than Cashmere I don't think any of our players merit making the shortlist. However we, like Wakefield & other smaller clubs do receive an unfair amount (lack) of publicity and are often overlooked.

Watched the Wigan and Les Cats game on SKY with someone who had never watched a game on SKY before and he was shocked on how biased Phil Clarke was in his commentary and half time conversations (often referring to Wigan as 'we' ). I do agree that Ray was the only Salford player within touching distance of getting nominated.

I bet he was a bit shocked by the small crowd at the "best supported" club in Super League, we got over 3000 more than Wigan for our game against the Catalans.

Would I be correct in thinking that Salford have never had a player on the MoS shortlist ? If so, it probably underlines the poor standard of fare that has been offered up over the last decade plus.
I'd also guess that we aren't the only team that boasts this statistic. Let's hope we aren't in this elite club for much longer

RANGI CHASE pipped Sam Tomkins of Wigan and St Helens’ James Roby last night to become Man of Steel.At last night’s ceremony in Manchester Jonny Lomax (St Helens) took the Young Player prize, while Coach of the Year went to Trent Robinson (Catalans Dragons), whose Dragons also scooped Club of the Year.

Outstanding Contribution awards went to Sean Long (Wigan, St Helens and Hull FC) and Rob Purdham (London Broncos and Harlequins), and Lifetime Achievement to Harry Jepson.

I think randy chase is right choice for man of steel he as been superb for castleford this year. As for salford players winning the award know one in are squad as stood out except cashmere matty smith and the two wingers. Plus I think it goes on performances and are defence is one of worse in super league and part of man of steal is being able to tackle.
