| With Jewitt getting the number 10 shirt do you think this is an indicator that McRae feels he's the best prop of the three at the current time? I'd be intrested to read any views on what other fans think about the potential ability of these three?
All three initially signed for other Superleague clubs and were not retained, could it be these clubs saw flaws in their game?

| Think Jewitt is the main man out of the three. He developed a lot last year and I think we can expect another big season from him. I really believe he can become a top prop in the competition, he has size, power, work ethic and a bit of an edge to him. He's stopped giving away silly penalties and i'm really glad we signed him for 3 years ,I think, last year.
Boyle is a work horse and looks good, hes still a baby as well and seemed to drift off last year. I think because of the injury to Ray last year Shaun wasn't given the opportunity to rest him and take him out of the limelight a bit, which these younger players need. However I think this will be a good year for him, he reminds me of an old fashioned prop and is a good signing.
With regards to Neal, I know a lot of people will disagree with me, but I think he should be a second row. He is quick and i think has good footwork, plus always seems to open himself up for the offload. He is another baby but has a lot of potential, what impressed me last year was his debut against Bradford, where Menzies crunched him big time. He looked hurt, but basically he drank a cup of concrete and got on with it.
Overall I think there all good and am excited about there future development with the club hopefully

| All three have the ability to become very very good players and with time on their hands and a willingness to work hard its only a matter of time till they get there.
At this moment in time id go for Jewitt as he has learned to ne better disciplined and should be rewarded for that, he just needs to be more explosive in the tackle legally and he will continue to develop.
Neal is a gem who needs to be shined, he is a Local lad with a big heart AND skill his 1st big season now to see if he can go to the next level.
Boyle for me started very well last season then faded away presumably fatigueset in towards the back end of the season, he is still young and for me he needs to do more in the tackle both in attack and defense

| Neal was highly thought of but had too many decent props in front of him.

| i'd definately have Jewitt first in the que for his hard running and aggression, followed by Neal then Boyle.

| Good post i really think prop is a major concern of ours. Big ray was fantastic last season but we need another front rower to compliment him. Feka will be good for around 15mins, but we need another grafter. What iv seen of neal he's the one at the front of them 3, i think can turn in to a top class prop, Boyle seems to slow and poor in defence, Jewitt gives away to many penaities and again is quite poor in defence. Parker, be surprised if he makes the 17 very surprised he still has the VC would give it to Adamson or LP.

| All of them are great prospects but if I was forced to choose 1 it'd be
Neal over Jewitt then Boyle I'm afraid,
Quicker , better technique , keeps running in the tackle and more potential to improve.
luckily I'm not in a position to make such a choice!

I wish Jewitt would get that little shuffle/skip out of his runs in - it seems to stifle his momentum. I'd like to see what damage he could do if he just charged in.

| Jewitt for me, he's got the what it takes to be a good solid prop for the next 10 years if he'd just run at full throttle a bit more often but what I've noticed over the past 12 months is how many offloads he makes in good positions. I've liked what I've seen from Neal as for such a young prop he looks like he's got a big future. The thing that sands out for me at the moment is just how young our props are;
Cashmere - 31
Parker - 29
Palea'asina - 28
Jewitt - 23
Boyle - 23
Sidlow - 23
Neal - 20
For me most props hit their peak at around 28 through to early/mid 30's. Now maybe one more experienced prop would have been nice but I can see the clubs point that we have 7 props on the books and they'll only get better by playing so money is better spent on other areas.
