Bigreds1 i agree about cashmere, but however i dont think he spends enough time on the pitch as the props are spelled every 20-25 mins so with holdsworth at captain i think is the right decision as he spends the full 80 on the pitch unless he gets injured.

I understand why people would like to see Big Ray given the role, being as he's probably our biggest and most capable player. On the other hand, how much longer are we going to have the luxury of his services? 1 or 2 years prehaps? Dan Holdsworth has signed a 3 year contract with the club, giving us more stability. Bring on the Malc brigade now, but, we've had a player that leads by example as captain, prehaps, just prehaps, a player that can organise is more important, and more what the side need right now. Obviously, a player that can do both, ala Andy Farrell, would be ideal. Big Ray can still set the standards, for what's expected from the forwards though.

Dan's example to the team will be how to play classy attacking rugby!!!

He and Patten were, probably, the front runners for the job all along, with Dan having spent the extra year at the club tipping the decision in his favour.

I think you have to trust the coaching staff on their decision. Working with the players on a daily basis they will know the players much better than we do.

No doubt Malc would have had a big input on his successor.

Yer, i was also thinking that, he doesn't get enough game time as he's a forward, glad its Dan Holdsworth as well though!
