The year is 1901, the ground is New Barnes. This video contains one of the earliest tries caught on film. It also shows how chaotic the Northern Union game was, where a scrum was ordered after every tackle.
I wonder if in 100 years time fans of the future will look back on crowd scenes of the current era and think that all Salfordians of the time were clowns in pink hats and wigs.
