Good post i really think prop is a major concern of ours. Big ray was fantastic last season but we need another front rower to compliment him. Feka will be good for around 15mins, but we need another grafter. What iv seen of neal he's the one at the front of them 3, i think can turn in to a top class prop, Boyle seems to slow and poor in defence, Jewitt gives away to many penaities and again is quite poor in defence. Parker, be surprised if he makes the 17 very surprised he still has the VC would give it to Adamson or LP.

All of them are great prospects but if I was forced to choose 1 it'd be
Neal over Jewitt then Boyle I'm afraid,
Quicker , better technique , keeps running in the tackle and more potential to improve.

luckily I'm not in a position to make such a choice!

I wish Jewitt would get that little shuffle/skip out of his runs in - it seems to stifle his momentum. I'd like to see what damage he could do if he just charged in.

Jewitt for me, he's got the what it takes to be a good solid prop for the next 10 years if he'd just run at full throttle a bit more often but what I've noticed over the past 12 months is how many offloads he makes in good positions. I've liked what I've seen from Neal as for such a young prop he looks like he's got a big future. The thing that sands out for me at the moment is just how young our props are;

Cashmere - 31
Parker - 29
Palea'asina - 28
Jewitt - 23
Boyle - 23
Sidlow - 23
Neal - 20

For me most props hit their peak at around 28 through to early/mid 30's. Now maybe one more experienced prop would have been nice but I can see the clubs point that we have 7 props on the books and they'll only get better by playing so money is better spent on other areas.
