| I Understand that there is a big Greek heratige In Aus, but i think it really is CRAZY that a country who 99% don't know the sport are competing in this year's world cup. I feel the same about Lebanon but they seem to have far more heritage players than Greece.
I understand the same thing for the Jamaican squad.
How many players in the following squads are born, or grew up in that country?
Greece.
Italy.
Ireland .
Jamaica.
Scotland .
Cook Islands.
I bet, there are not enough players in ALL of their squads, born in their nation to make a squad of 17.
You could probably throw Samoa in that mix too.
My point is that we have had a "Global" world cup since 2000, yet none of the above nations have done diddly squat into growing the good game.
That's 21 years. Rugby Union seem to so it the right way, just look at the USA and, if it doesn't pull it's socks up, then Union will succeed as the money men are circling to put money into long term sports.
