| He's far from the plodder so many SL fans seem to think he is. Is he the best forward in the NRL? No. Is he a very good club player? Yes. Should he be considered for England as a result? Probably.

| Glad to see he's proving a lot of the clueless numpties on here who said he was utter $hit whilst playing for Warrington, little knowing what talent he actually had.

| Had a quick look on the Canberra forum after seeing their result this weekend to see how Hodgson is doing, and it seems he is a massive hit going by these snippet of many comments on him:
'Hodgson is one of our best recruits since the golden era and could honestly be the start of a new one.'
'I said it a few weeks ago, but to me Hodgson has already established himself as perhaps our 2nd best hooker of all time. He's better than Woolford imo.'
'Hodgson has the potential to be the clubs best pickup since Meninga'
'Hodgson is beyond amazing.'
Good going from a guy a lot of people thought would be back in SL within a year and again proves a good SL player can more than make a go of it in the NRL.

| I'm pleased to see Hodgson going well; he's been excellent for the Green Machine. He's got an unfussy but quick service (sounds simple, but how often do we see first receivers collecting the ball high over their heads?), a decent kicking game, and is a pretty good defender.
'Best since Meninga' sounds crazy talk, but he has been good.

| lol, Meninga was signed in '86 and retired as one of the greatest players of all time, for the Raiders, QLD and Australia. Bit much of a comparison to someone who's played 8 games for the club.
But in my opinion, so far, Hodgson is the signing of the year in the NRL. For a club who has been struggling badly at hooker for a good decade now, he has been a godsend. Definitely Raiders best in 2015.
Says something for SL hookers if he was 4th, maybe 5th best in the league in 2014. I watched him closely in the Four Nations. He was thoroughly outplayed by Clarke, but he also looked much less fit than now and did little else but pass from dummy half.

| Hodgson worked hard in the close season, so his fitness is probably a bit better. He's doing really well now, and the contrast with Scott Moore is all down to one thing - his passing from acting half is quick and clean. That's given him the confidence to run and he's shown he has an excellent kicking game if needed.
Moore OTOH looked like he'd never played there before, spraying passes all over the place, and often at snail-like speed. It was uite embarrassing to watch his (thankfully few) NRL games.

| He has been paramount to the Dragons' revival, for sure. He topped the Dally M points list when they beat the Broncos a couple of rounds ago. He's light years ahead of Tom Burgess anyway, who shouldn't get a sniff of the jersey this year. If he does then it'll only be on name alone, he really fails to impress each week.

| Tom had a good game yesterday. Probably the best i've seen from him actually. Out-performed his brother for once.

| Tom's fine as a replacement for George, as it means Souths don't lose any size when he's off. He's certainly less dynamic than George but he does have a good offload in him. Both of them (and Sam) can be counted on to drop the ball under no pressure at some point in a game though.
For England given Graham is likely to pull long minutes and with Hill (Walmsley?), Cooper might well be a better bet, but he is much smaller than either Burgess. He isn't mobile enough for second row either.

| BTW Greg Eden is now about 6th choice full back for the Broncos. He's gone backwards in the pecking order without even playing a game, which is some achievement.
