| Knees to the head of a prone player on the floor.
Had a leeds or wigan player done that, there'd be a 20 page thread on here already calling for:
Liftetime ban
death penalty
The teams town to be nuked

| Does make me laugh this. One or two posters say it was grade E offence and suddenly te whole 20 pages were asking to ban Sinield for life! Reason it was 20 pages was because a player who has never put a foot out of line disciplinary wise, head butted another player.
Very reckless from Hauraki and deserves banning. Hope Abdull is ok. Didnt look good.

| Meh, accidental. No ban, not even worthy of a penalty in my opinion. Send Hauaraki a warning letter to be more careful and job done.
Hope the lad is ok but it wasn't malicious and is just one of those things, same as Millington's knee injury.

| Didn't think much of it apart from being careless. Saying that you see legs kicking out a lot when the player is tackled all it takes is for one day for it to catch someone's head. These things happen all the time and was no where near red card territory let alone getting banned.

| There was no 20 page thread for Duport the week previous either, and that was nastier IMO.

| It's one of those that looks much dodgier when you slow it down as then it starts to look more deliberate but like others said it's just one of those things that happens in tackles as players are fighting to PTB. Clumsy and a warning letter should do it.

| It was incredibly reckless. I'd brush it off as accidental but he threw his knees in twice. You can't go around doing that when there are players underneath you.

Yep: very reckless IMO. Why is he throwing his knees about like that anyway?
Obviously it wasn't deliberate but I can't understand why you'd want to just ignore that. It could have caused serious injury.

| Trying to get to his feet to play the ball quickly, can't find his footing plus Abdull still holding him down. Hauraki slips again knee hits Abdull's arm first before slipping off that into his face accidentally.
No intent, not deliberate just an unfortunate repercussion of trying to get up and one player holding him down/having his leg caught (I believe).
Would have to watch it again slowly.

I'm not sure what that's supposed to prove. We already knew Hauraki's knee hit the Hull players head.
As mentioned before, he was trying to get up to play the ball. Maybe he should've been a bit more careful but it's nowhere near a ban and not even a penalty in my opinion. These things happen in a tackle.
If it is then each Hull player involved in the tackle on Millington deserve a long ban too.
But that would be ridiculous...

| Accidental contact with the head, 1-2 due to careless/ reckless behaviour and lack of care and consideration for players around him.
I'd be surprised if anyone outside of Hull and Stevo believed this was deliberate...

watching the replay back, doesnt look good, abdul isnt holding hauraki down, he clearly knows he is there and continues to plow his knees in, players have been penalised in the past for kicking out in the tackle for dangerous play, like the hock incident, unless watched back probably woulnt have noticed, only hauraki knos if the intent was there, live wouldve been difficult to decide, that lays in the hands of the rfl
he will cop a game ban for carelesness and i hope he hasnt done any damage to young abduls' neck!

| His knee hits him on the ear, not the neck - not that it makes the slightest bit of difference. Wish Abdull all the best.

| Hauraki is a house, but that one looked nothing more than a bit reckless; Hull do tend to stick around too long in the ruck, and he was obviously scrambling around a bit to try to convince the ref he was being impeded.
Reckless yes, but making a case for intent would be difficult; and I do wish Stevo would stop pronouncing players as guilty during his 'commentary.'

Will be purely precautionary, not necessarily indicative of a serious injury.

I've always thought of him as a pretty clean player. Certainly don't remember many dirty incidents from him.

Yeah, all the strapping up etc. is, just not seen a player carted off in an ambulance too often.
Having seen the replay now it looked fairly innocuous in the play and much worse in the slowed down replays. Stevo's hysteria doesn't help. The point of contact is potentially very dangerous though.
I'm not sure people claiming to know what was going on in Hauraki's mind helps, but I hope it's not going to be another incident judged on the outcome rather than the incident itself, even if Abbo is badly hurt.

| I don't think it was intentional for one minute.
It was careless. I think Hauraki may have been trying to flap around abit, maybe win his side a penalty for making it looking like he was being held down.

| [iHauraki obviously thought Abdull was going to force his face into Weller's knee but he didn't so Hauraki's knee just kept going. That's nothing like a knee to the face, it's not as if it was a Glasgow knee was it? This game has gone soft.[/i
I think that's what the OP was after. Now Weller, he may miss the semi-final, convenience won't be bestowed upon him.

| I don't think Hauraki is a particularly dirty player, but the incident depends on intent, I don't think he intended to crunch Abdull's head with his knee i.e. it was not deliberate, but he did know 100% Abdull was defenceless on the floor, yet took the risk of clambering forward using his knees, obviously it is unlucky that he happened to land one knee right "on the money", on most occasions he'd have got away with it. But he took the risk, he was reckless or to put it at its mildest very careless, and made contact with the head of an opponent as a result. He should be charged and sentenced for that.
But deliberate assault with the knee to the head? Nah, no chance.
