| Never liked his demeanour, and especially the way he spoke to his colleagues at times on the pitch, the penalties hew gives away and the huge embarrassment he caused the game in Melbourne last yr with his squirrel grip, and obviously the fact that he's going to union; good to see Souths lose today and L Brooks do well.
Also, Sam isn't even the best forward in his family, he's just an all action type of player, it's all about him, and he's never won anything. Yes, he comes up with some big plays, but he's not as skilful as S B Williams, and not as effecting as George. S Burgess is overrated.

I know Sam Burgess is one of england rl's top players and quite popular among the fans. I'll single him out, stick the boot in and watch the grenade go off.
Yawn.

I'm not stickin the boot in, not trying to wind ppl up, just saying how it is, he's not as effective a forward as George, also this is a forum to express opinions. Also I reckon the best English journo D Hadfield would agree with me much that I would say about S Burgess. I hope George B wins a Premiership.

Yes and if we judge a player from just a single game he would be the best forward ever after the World cup game against new zealand.

His all-round performance in that match is overrated, due to J Peacock saying what he did. J Graham brought more cohesion to the team, and Burgess fed off what others did, granted he scored a long distance try, but fullbacks tend to avoid him in such situations. Granted, S Burgess brings some sort of X Factor to the party, but he's never beaten the Aussies, and he's never played in a Grand Final, he's NOT Superman.

you have now proven your self to be an idiot or incapable of dealing with your personal dislike of him that you have now tried to say he was overrated against new zealand. I think most would agree that you're opinion on Sam Burgess has become worthless because you can't see beyond personal dislike of him similar to Dally with Sam Tomkins.

Everyone would love Sam Burgess to play for their team.
I turned BBC on last Saturday teatime, 8 mins gone of France vs Ireland. They were setting a scrum. 3 mins later they were having the 4th or 5th attempt at the same scrum, which resulted in a penalty. I'd seen enough & turned over, wonder if Sam Burgess bothered watching? He'll be wasted in Union.

Sorry, but what are you smoking? Burgess was immense during that game. Scored one, set up one with his offload to Lockers and was solid in attack and defence. George outshone Sam in the first game against the Aussies (IMO), but not the Kiwi game...

| Regarding the SF vs. NZ, J Graham was more responsible in setting up O'Lochlin to score, Graham drew the defence and put in a v.good pass, Burgess just hit the hole, and popped the ball over to Sean; as for better than S B Williams, Williams won the RLIF player of the year award, 2013 GF ring a bell with you?

Sam Burgess had pretty much the complete game against NZ. Anyone who can't see that is simply a moron.

Even the most blinkered Aussie on the planet wouldn't seriously think old Quasimodo was better than Sonny Bill.
I'm no fan of the Burgess media circus or indeed Souths as a club but I think the side will be better off without him
Anyone see him try and gouge Aaron Woods during the little push and shove session? I hope for his sake he stops his grubby ways when he plays the 15 man code or he will get seriously hurt.

Thank you.
I reckon most in Souths will be happier when S Burgess leaves. To an extent he's an individual in a team sport, like Sonny Bill is, but as I said, what's Burgess' long spin passing to his right like? Can Burgess even spin pass to his right?

As soon as Sam Burgess started believing the hype that Russell Crowes people were putting out about him being this incredible unstoppable northern hemisphere warrior was the day he failed.
He would have done far better if he had led a similar life to Adrian Morley 10 years ago... just got out there, played the game and earned a reputation as a decent player not some whinging sooky mummys boy living with his mum and his brothers playing out their every move in front of TV cameras like some bizarre NRL version of the Osbournes.

| In fairness, Sam Burgess is getting into the habit of getting distracted from his natural game by trying to be a 'hard man'. Players are winding him up, and he's spending more time trying to get even, rather than doing what he does best.
When he focuses on his job, he is the best forward in the world, but he's becoming too easy to distract - he's trying to live up to an 'enforcer' reputation, but he needs to realise he's an enforcer doing his natural game , not trying to win personal battles.
Also, his over the top 'protection' of his brothers is becoming a touch embarrassing. Everytime one of them gets hit hard, he's coming in with the handbag swinging. George looked embarrassed by him the other day - George is big and tough enough to look after himself - he doesn't need or i would presume want Sam fighting his battles for him.

Nothin wrong with being a mummy's boy. The media stuff he's bn doin doesn't bother me, what does is missing training last September due to a media commitment apparently, and the way he seems to think he's the most important plyr on the team, he's far frm that, Inglis, Reynolds and Luke are far more important.

You can't blame sam burgess for media commitments, souths should stop him from doing it if they have an issue, rusty is loving Souths new membership numbers and you could attribute some of that to Sam Burgess and his family.
Inglis maybe be more important but the rest not a chance especially not Reynolds i haven't seen a more over hyped player than him. At the same time you could say Inglis massive salary is effecting the team from signing better back line players.
