I'm not convinced. It's only got this regular slot now I think because the BBC are showing regional football programme "Late Kick Off" on Monday's anyway, which Super League show will air on the back of. Once that programme departs..........well we'll see. |

Dont think i will be bothering with watching the BBC,will stick to SKY, THE Super League Show has always been rubbish since day1 it needs showing on Sunday eve around 9pm if the other code can be shown at that time why cant ours.

Does this mean the nationwide repeat we have been enjoying for the last few years, albeit in the middle of the night, has been binned?
For those who say the SLS is crap - have you actually watched it any time in the past five years? Compared to Boots n All it's a work of heroic genius. And in its own right it tends to be a perfectly acceptable bit of coverage.

Nope. It's still in the middle of the night, but the middle of Monday/Tuesday night.
A new production company has taken it on board. Apparently there is a new format. It's also 45 minutes long and (until May anyway) is at a set time. That makes it different to last season when it really did reach new lows! Hopefully this revamp will give it a boost back up again. It is good that we still have a slot on the BBC, regardless of regionality and the silly time of the repeat.
If enough RL supporters watch it then that will increase the likelihood of it going nationwide straight off in the future. However, RL supporters often seem to be blinkered. Happy to moan about how bad something is but not prepared to help put it right. The exception being the cuts to local radio, which motivated at least 1000 to give their support. |

If you have SKY (I know not everybody does) you can choose which BBC region you want to watch!! Its ridiculous though as I am sure there must be some people in the North who would quite like to watch a repeat of the Graham Norton Show instead of RL.
As virtually everybody has some form of digital now why dont the Beeb but it on BBC3/4 instead of all the repeats they have on there and have it on the red button as well.

Only I Player counts for anything unless you have a viewer habbits box for BARB.
David Woods on twitter was twitting the news about it getting a set slot. Sadly he didnt reply to my tweet about it still being a tin pot regional show. |

Yes, it's gash; production values on a par with Crossroads and all the appeal and charisma of Gareth Hock.
I'll Sky+ the first one to see if it's improved, but I don't hold out much hope. |

In previous years the BBC have been happy to record and broadcast the SLS on sunday mornings when as many as 5 of the 7 games hadn't happened so I doubt the introduction of one live monday night game on sky has anything to do with it.They would still be able to show footage of 6 out of 7 games even if they had no time to edit and include footage of the 7th. MOTD didn't move when monday night football games started.
I suspect it may have more to do with the BBC covering Euro 2012, Wimbledon and the Olympics in the June to late August period along with their daily highlights programmes for those events meaning it will be harder to guarantee a regular slot for a show that is only regionally broadcast and will in the eyes of the BBC (and probably in reality) attract fewer viewers than the other summer sporting events.
Personally I don't give a monkey's about either the tennis or the Olympics and won't watch any footage of either but lots of people do and that is who the BBC will cater for so we will unfortunately have to put up with the SLS being fitted in wherever it can be accommodated around the other much larger sporting events going on.

Slight tangent but I see that Rugby League has been made a ‘banner’ sport on the new BBC web site (7 sports plus Olympics)... I would image we would have seen a bit of a storm on these pages if it had been left out and added to ‘other sports’
