| Do we expect to see an advert for the 4 nations double header?
As many casuals (not really Union fans) will be watching England games I just wondering if the RFL should be looking to attract these to come and watch rugby league. As it is England vs Australia maybe these people will buy tickets in impulse.
What you think?

| What sort of advert? TV? Press? London or national? Not sure if many "casuals" are watching the RUWC on TV as the games are on early in the morning aren't they? Not sure about this though as I haven't watched any of it - couldn't even tell you what channel its on.

| I don't care. I only know the union world cup exists because people on here act like we are the poles and the union world cup is nazi germany. If they want to act like there amusingly dated, frankly nonsensical game is the only rugby code then good look to them. I'll be busy watching the entertaining, progressive code.

| The RUWC is nothing like nazi Germany, it is Sweden - extremely dull and vastly overpriced.

I am thinking TV. Like you I not watching it but I was just thinking maybe it is an opportunity to attract the casuals to the greatest game!!

| Unfortunately I think a national TV advert would blow the RFL's annual marketing budget in 30 seconds. Money would perhaps be better spent giving every amateur RL club in the London area 500 tickets each and telling them they can keep the money for every ticket they sell.

| We have rugby league fans who don't give a hoot about the four nations. What chance is there with union fans?

| Look at Quins-There is nothing compatible about the 2 codes. One is a wealthy mans afternoon out with his chums, the other a good sport.
Thats from someone with a ST for both codes-well not union this year as last season was too much to take at the union games

| A prima donna and a fat faced little turd who famously turned and ran away from a one on one tackle.
Brilliant.

| They should have the odd advertisement in the London region for the double header.
Although in a 30 sec ad there would be more action than in a England Union game.

| what a great idea!
lets get shaun edwards, andy farrell, jason robinson, chris ashton, shontayne hape etc to front an advertising campaign during a break in the kicking competition to tell people that there are 2 types of rugby, this one you are watching with all the money, hype and media frenzy and the one that they used to play which is faster, more entertaining, skillful etc and to buy a ticket for the double header at wembley, or better still get gareth thomas and jonathan davies to do likewise in wales!
that'll sock it to em

| Not a cat in hell's chance of this happening.
I am not saying the RFL wouldn't think of this but the IRB would make sure it would not happen.

Even if you take out the bits praising league that's still a good idea although I'm in the camp that says nobody is really watching this RUWC because of the times that it's on. Would probably be a waste of money unless it was a big game like a semi which would be embarrassing given the disparity in the hype between the two sports.

| You guys need to move down here. I can't imagine a place where Union is more popular than league? :S Mind boggling...
Perhaps the internationals, even then, the NRL...

| Not seen much column inches in the papers about the play offs either. If you don't have sky or any rugby papers then rugby league does't exist.
The RFL marketing team have only just found out the difference between Intranet and Internet, maybe nothing exists outside of Red Hall.

I dont think the IRB have a say in it. The advertising would be done with the network.

| Did you know that as long as an advert ticks all the rights boxes no tv channel is able to turn the advert down. Which is why a couple of years ago Crazy frog was everywhere.
