Me and my mate the other day had some spare time and was thinking of a team that consisted just of players that were aged 30 or over of any overseas and non england internationals currently playing in super league that could maybe take on the england team. Here is our quick attempt below-
Full back- brett hodgson
Winger- pat richards (29 but couldn't think of many more )
Centre-george carmont
Centre-matt king
Winger-francis meli
Stand off- steve menzies
Scrum half-paul deacon
Prop-mark o meley
Hooker- danny buderus
Prop-andy lynch
Second row-tony puletua
Second row-lee radford
Loose forward-craig fitzgibbon

Not a bad shout but I'd say clint newton maybe ? Apart from him being unlucky with injuries this year he always gives 100% from what I've seen

menzies has been playing very well at 6 for catalan when needed to this season.
mcgoldrick is awful
long is always injured so wouldnt be fit anyway
and michael monaghan is a fantastic hooker, but is not a halfback, he is 31 however so would definately swap him for buderus. |
