No, the heritage round should be a normal SL round. Perhaps one laden with derbies.
Millenium Tragic should be a 9s comp IMO. A fun and vibrant introduction to the season.

| No point, just a marketing ploy to sell jerseys, it has no real significance. Ask fans of merged or now defunct first grade clubs what they think. Their heritage was ripped off them and the have to run around in someone else's jersey.
A nothing weekend to be honest, with an NRL spin.

| Would love one but for some reason our game at the top level seems ashamed to celebrate our past!
Special edition shirts in old style that you may sell to an older generation that don't usually purchase jersey's. Parade of legends past gone bye which may bring a few older fans back for one off games that can't really attend anymore. Do boost crowds a bit and also merchandise money in too, win, win for me!
Of course you'll have new sides like Crusaders but can always have Welsh RL legends or simply not worry about it as NRL sides too. Slightly 'themed' rounds like the NRL have would be easily implemented and add to the SL season greatly IMO.

| I think we should have a future round where we play in kits of the future.
The Hull teams can wear scumba diving suits as they grounds will be underwater thanks to rising sea levels. The Wigan team can wear black and white because they’ll finally be convicted for their crimes against rugby league.
Yeah the future concept would work well..

| Fantastic idea
Salford can play Swinton
W1g4n can play Leigh
Huddersfield can play Fax
Leeds can play Bramley , at least the Rhino's might win that one
Cas can play Fev
Bradford can play keighley
Hull can play as the Sharks against Gateshead , they like playing with themselves
HKR can play Fulham , then roofs can attend

| do it, pick a charity each year and bitch slap the kit manufacturers into giving 50%+ of the huge profits they make from each shirt sale to that chosen charity, Give a percentage of gate receipts to chosen charity aswell, really plug donations from the fans in the weeks leading up to it. sorted, everyone enjoys some cracking derbies, get some funky looking retro kits (although us vikings stronghold members will be getting one anyway ) chosen charity gets big cash injection, which brings its own publicity and within a few years its a big deal and the sport is getting lots of recognition for it.
job done.

I'm sure the prospect of watching Jeff Grayshon and Bernard Dwyer walk around the pitch at half time will put thousands on the gate.
No, really.
It's a glorified kit selling exercise. If clubs want to produce "retro" kits (as Leeds did with the limited edition version of the 1968 Wembley kit) then they can do that off their own backs as a commercial exercise.

| Why not instead, Leeds/Wigan/Huddersfield/Hull KR produce kits that actually are nice to look at, and are traditional kits. Leeds wear Blue with a Yellow band (although I'm sure someone will state otherwise), Wigan are Cherry and White hoops, Huddersfield are Claret and Gold Hoops, or occasionally claret with a gold v, Hull KR are White with a Red hoop. I've had enough of all these horrible kits (mostly Kooga) being thrown around, until they produce a kit I like, I won't buy one.

| hence my idea, if its a kit selling exercise then make it into a kit selling exercise for a cause. which has positive knock on effects regarding media coverage and standing.

Older legends who deserve the recognition in our game as especially financially they are not rewarded. It works in the NRL as does the Women in RL round, so why not here?
We bang on about being a Sport that excels in doing new things, new ideas yet if one mentioned that celebrates our past suddenly it's just a money spinner (in a sport that needs it anyway!). Doesn't have to add thousands onto gates even an extra hundred and it's worth it.

How much is it going to cost? Next to nothing! But adds something extra than just another round. Ask the NRL why they do a few 'themed' rounds? Extra publicity for free near enough?
What difference does it make to people who go every game anyway? None. Do why not try something new and a bit different without any real disruption!

True, there's plenty of things you could do with it yet in Rugby League their seems to be an inner feeling that we can't move forward whilst celebrating our past which is a shameful view in all honesty!
