Well that is true.

You could run into some assumptions about a statement like that. A lot of English people I've had the fortune of meeting often thought of Manly as another League team - it's only really Australia that we seem to get the 'hate'

In OZ people support two teams,their own team and who ever plays manly.

But that's a bit like saying you have to live a 100 miles away to support ManUre

Well maybe you should read into more of Manly.Manly have taken alot of players from other clubs back in the 60s 70s and 80s and for that reason they were tagged as the most hated team in OZ.Wests were one team they took alot from ,they were considered the Silvertails back in the 70s.But Manly turned them into the fibros and Manly became the silvertails.People never forget what the mighty eagles did back then.Even Norths hates us with a passion but I can handle that lol.It's like Wigan Hating St helens or vice versa.

Nobody gives a stuff about Manly unless they're the top team. They're not the top team now, so no one cares.

'HATE' is an often misused word - it shouldn't be linked to sport just to things like 'VAT man' & 'Mother in Law' etc etc

Silvertails was a term made famous from Chris Masters (Roy Masters brother and coach of the Western Suburbs), Roy then got a hold of it making out that the Manly players were living in Castles, drove Bentley's and living a rock'n'roll lifestyle, which everyone took as hook, line and sinker.

I was born in Wakefield... supported Trinity from being a kid, during most of that time people have constantly critisised and called them... I come to live in Sydney... live in the Shire and support the Sharks... and get the same reaction to my new team...



I am beginning to think it might be me!!!!?


I support Trinity AND the Sharks... how bad is that... I just love the underdog!!!
