| Hi I'm living in Auckland and am going to the Four Nations matches at Eden Park but don't want to end up sitting in the middle of the Aussies (my other half wouldn't cope at all ) - which stand / area are the majority of the England Fans sitting? Its been 3 years since I've been to an English RL game and it would be nice to be amongst the banter I miss ...
We'd like to book our tickets this week so any advice most welcome - hopefully the Auckland weather will have sorted itself out for when you all arrive

Yes Auckland is in New Zealand and the Aussies are playing the kiwi's there on the same day as England play PNG, hence why she wouldn't want to sit with the Aussies.

And exactly how many Aussies do you think will bother flying over the Tasman to watch England v PNG??!!
We dont even bother when its a straight NZ v Australia test!
Any Aussies that attend that game will probably be living in NZ anyway.
If the england game is on first they will all be in the pub or if its after the NZ v Aus game they will have already left.

| Hey if you can't give a straight answer don't bother! Mind you having seen some of your previous replies to threads I shouldn't be surprised.
Its reactions like yours that makes me want to avoid anyone from across the ditch!
And FYI I'm ENGLISH hence wanting to sit with the English fans !
If you can answer my original question please reply - if you just want to show what a totally ignorant person you are save yourself some time and don't!

For the record Baz.....I don't give a flying one where I sit...in fact, I would encourage Australians who are going to the game to enquire as to where I am sitting....because if they are situated anywhere near me, they will get a LOUD constant reminder that the third world country you mention above are actually the WORLD CHAMPIONS OF RUGBY LEAGUE! I suspect that after your wendyballers implosion in South Africa and your Union lot getting turned over by the English pensioners any Australian worth his salt will get behind your league outfit, given they are the only truly world class team you have.....and that's in a 3 team world
Oh...Australians sense of over-importance always makes me smile........even the Irish are showing them how AFL should be played

| What exactly are they the best at these days? They've got the one-day cricket world cup, which they will lose before long, but apart from that?

As an official Plastic Paddy myself, I applaud the use of "passporting" to get better teams. Before I fell out of love with soccer, I travelled to Stutgart in 88, Italia 90 and USA 94 to cheer on Ireland. The fact that Ray Houghton, with the broadest scottish accent in history scored goals against England in 88 and Italy in 94 doesn't bother me in the slightest......he was entitled to play for Ireland and did so with pride. The English/southAfrican/Irish cricket team ar a joy to watch........thank God Britain used to rule 1/3 of the worlds surface eh.....shame they never really got hold of Turkey or they could win all the olympic weightlifting medals on 2012
Lest we forget...these same passporting rules allow the criminal element and kiwis to live in the UK with no visa requirement so long as granny or grandad was an immigrant......what comes around and all that.

| I don't disagree with 'passporting' to another country, it's changing again once you've represented that country I don't like.

Back on topic. I would contact the venue by email if I were you. The allocation of tickets seems pretty lax over here from the events I have been to, but if they expect a bumper crowd for this game, then the venue will have allocated tickets to the corporate hospitality partner already as well as the overseas/visiting fans.
FWIW, I will be watching the games from the comfort of a corporate box (perk of the job)
