In the Hull KR V Wigan game what would have happened had Phelps kicked the ball out of Webster's hand as he was about to put it down?

Penalty try I should think.

Maybe a yellow but don't think so.

Play on I think. Or maybe a penalty if it's 2v1 in the tackle.

Surely a penalty as you can't kick the ball out of someone's hand??? Must count as dangerous

Surely if he is in the act of scoring a try and it would have been scored other than the kick it should be a penalty try.

I'm coming round to the idea of it being a yellow also. If that happens anywhere else on the field (I know he only did it as it was on the try line but still) I think it would be yellow so maybe yellow card too.

It can't be a penalty try from stripping the ball which is what it is, essentially.

No it isnt --it is a 2 man tackle--one round his legs and the other kicking the ball--penalty try surely

Although Phelps wasn’t as dangerous Billy Slater got warned for similar antics in Australia where he slid in to kick balls out of players hands!

Well if Phelps had kicked the ball im pretty sure that Alibert wouldnt have had a clue what to do.

I think he means the rules as they have been operated over the last season or so don't award a penalty try if it is stripped (& by that I mean 2 or more on 1) or dislodged illegally over the try line, just a penalty.

It should surely be classes as a dangerous tackle since if he misjudges it Webster would get totally cleaned out!
