| Quote ="Mr. Zucchini Head"For the people picking Hull to finish top. I would have put us there myself if not for what we are going to have to contest with in the first few weeks.
After Huddersfield at home we obviously fly out to Aus, play Wigan, always a tough game. Then whilst some other sides are getting a break we are playing St George. Then flying back to play Cas away, Wire home and Leeds away in the space of 13 days.
To win the LLS you really need to hit the ground running, but there is every chance we could have a losing record and a few bruised bodies after 5 rounds. I dont think the LLS is a real goal. It will all be about keeping key players fresh, safely making the 4 and trying to be at our best when the playoffs arrive.'"
Now that kind of post makes sense Zucchy.

can see top 3-4 being only 2-4 points maybe even down to points difference.

Very possible. The bookies certainly can't seperate the top few this year, although interestingly they have Wigan as their favourites, who alot of people are writing off.

Do you think that Leigh, Toronto and Toulouse will "win" promotion or be granted top flight status in some new shake up, designed to fulfil the RFL's dream scenario.
It's mickey poor that we are about to start the season and the top clubs in the Championship and those who may be most at risk from the current SL clubs dont know whats happening, never mind the paying public.
Wood's may have gone but the up in the brewery still cant be organised properly.
Maybe, just maybe," some people" want to see how certain clubs shape up before deciding what they want and yet again, when the new structure is revealed, there will be cries of favouritism.
If we were going into the new season knowing that it would definitely be a 14 club SL next season and how this was going to be achieved, either on field or, with off field criteria, perhaps clubs could plan accordingly.

They don't seem to be anymore although all still very tight, one bookies I've just looked at has Cas and Saints at 4/1, then Leeds and Wigan 5/1 and Hull and Wire at 6/1.
Can't recall it being that tight between so many clubs before. Really tough to call which two of that group will miss out on the four.

Out of those 6 teams, I think Wakey will disturb that group. I have Wakey to finish 6th, so dependent on injuries and their current form at that time, they could do well come the end of the season.

Could get top 6 if one of those contenders has a bad year as we've seen with Leeds '16 and Wire '17. Could well be Wigan because as someone said earlier they do seem a bit aimless at the moment compared to the others. Seem to need O'Loughlin out there or struggle and his fitness/amount of games played is questionable.

Head to head, Wakefield are already above Wigan. They've each won 3 from 6 but Wakefield have outscored them on average over the last two years and nilled them twice in the same period. The others are a bit different, they've sat behind the other teams for a while now, I think they'll push on and finish 5th again or 6th, but I wouldn't be surprised if they made the top 4. On the other hand, it's still Wakey, there's always the chance of the bottom 4

Shows a W/L record against one single team is meaningless in the grand scheme of things. Leeds were 50/50 with Warrington and Widnes in the league last year....what did that mean in the grand scheme of the year as a whole? We beat Hull 2-0 in 2016 yet we were the laughing stock in the middle 8's whilst they were thought of as the team of the year.
You beat Wigan in Rounds 16 and 30 last year. Between those games you went W5 L8.

It has plenty of relevance to normal people except Wildcats fans who think results against one certain team are what is the bee all and end all.
You can beat Wigan 2-0 in the regular season next year, you can make it 3 in the Supet 8's....but if you don't follow it up with enough wins elsewhere then it means jack all.

There you go again with your generalisations about Trinity fans.
Like I've said to you before, I always thought you were a decent poster when you were ThePrinter, but for some reason almost every time anyone who supports Wakey posts on here & no matter how trivial you're all over them like you're looking for an argument, what's that all about because I don't see you do it with fans of other teams too much when you could.
Anyway, I'll go-

He was decent when we weren't very good and he could patronise us. Just shows how fragile the egos are on this forum and he's not alone. Odd thing is his prediction don't look that ridiculous so makes you wonder what the problem is.
We've rattled a load of pre- conception in the past two yeas and they can't stand - hence the fact that at best most have us to do no better than last year.
Of course they may be right, I don't think there are many Wakey fans who think we will be champs. Hell we may even crash and burn but that's the same with all teams just look at Warrington last year.
However the season hasn't started yet and anybody can see we have made some potentially very good signings especially compared to some other clubs. That's why you have to smile at some of the teams placed above us by some. There is no logic it's just none sense and prejudice.
If your as good as your last game then Wigan shouldn't be anywhere near.
That said I'm sure Wigan will recover its in their DNA but right now they look poor. No just picking on Wigan, despite Printers propaganda Leeds looked no great shakes on Boxing Day even with a fairly strong squad.Cas got beat though it was a weak team.
You can't tell now really but if you were basing it on logic - last years results - this years sightings then Wakefield have to be top 6 though it would kill mr zucchini to admit it.
Again I'm not saying we actually will but if your being genuine with the facts at hand you'd pretty much pick similar finishing positions as last year with perhaps Salford giving way for fairly obvious reasons.
But hey shifty we are upperty Tri fans with a chip on our shoulders and no right to be ambitious or optimistic - wouldn't want to upset the cost status quo that has existed in RL for the last 20 years.
Cas tried and look what happened - back in your boxes.

| I just hope above anything Cas don't follow the previous two LLS winners and fall into the bottom 4.
I cant see it but stranger things have happened. So here goes;
1. St Helens - I though Holbrook got them ticking towards the back end of the season and will carry on in the same fashion
2. Hull - Will finally find their consistency
3. Cas - Hopefully will still be consistent, Roberts to be a major plus at FB.
4. Wire / Wakefield - Could be either for me, probably the results in the games between the 2 teams will make the difference.
5. Wire / Wakefield - As above
6. Leeds - I think it will be close in the league but I just cant see how Myler replaces McGuire!
7. Wigan - I think 2019 will be a massive year for Wigan when their youngsters come of age. For me, they wont be miles off.
8. Huddersfield - If they keep Mamo and Ika fit, they will go well.
9. Catalans - Will just miss out on the 8's but will comfortably navigate the middles.
10. Hull KR - Will do OK in their first year back, pick up a few big wins.
11. Widnes - Some decent signings, just need to keep their halves injury free.
12. Salford - I think they might struggle this year, a couple of decent signings but went into free fall last season, I expect this to carry on.
Overall i think it will be one of the closest seasons we have ever witnessed, a couple of wins / losses here or there will really affect teams.
I will be completely wrong with the above but who cares, Rugby League and especially Super League is finally back!

Why on earth would I never admit it? If I thought you would finish 6th then I would put you 6th. But I am expecting Wigan to have a better year, I expect Warrington to improve significantly and that leaves Huddersfield, who are probably on a very similar level to you, but I was impressed every time I watched them last year once they booked their ideas up after the Swinton loss. As I said earlier I think they could be a dark horse.
Please dont think I have anything against Wakefield. Yes I got it wrong last year, but that wasnt through a dislike or prejudice of Wakefield. I just got it wrong. I was gutted for you missing the 4 last year and would love for you to go one better this year. I don't think you will. Maybe I will be wrong again?
