Gadwin has improved massively this year. Last year he was raw, clumsy and error prone, however, under the guidance and coaching of Daryl Powell (the 2014 coach of the year), compared to the average coaching set up in Catalan, Gadwin has kicked on, makes good yards, cheeky offload and has a good chant from the crowd when he enters the field.

As it stands it would have to be Ellis, he leads that Hull team and they look a lot less of a team without him. The 2nd row pairing with Minicello is as good as there is in SL this year which is quite impressive when Hull's key signings were Pritchard and Manu who I don't think are fit to lace the boots of those 2.

Solomona now on 31 tries - 11 more than any other player. Many of them are outstanding individual finishes, he's not just running over the line unchallenged out wide. Also made 15 more clean breaks than any other player.

Gale now on 35 try assists - 12 more than anyone else. Now only one behind Marc Sneyd in terms of goal kicks.

These are definitely Cas' two contenders for MoS. In terms of a winner, I don't think any individual has made more difference to SL than Solomona this year.

Godwin Springer also a possibility for young player of the year.

Solomona's definitely in with a shot for me & also has a chance to go past Vainikolo's 36 tries in a SL season record.

He would have scored even more, had he not had to fill in at FB which has probable "robbed" him of another 4/5 tries.

As a Wakey fan it's hard to admit but as a rugby league fan it's easy to admit that Solomona or Gale would be worthy Man of Steel candidates, I honestly can't think of more stand out candidates than them two.

Taking nothing away from Gale (who I think has had a fine season) I wouldn't be using the goldthorp medal as any type of a barometer . I find it a bit of a joke really and when you see Todd Carney , Jacob Miller ,Luke Walsh , Hanbury , Robert Lui all above Ellis , Houghton or Solomona says it all . Getting chose by your fellow professionals is the biggest award you can hope for
