| In the 15 man version of Rugby...the Union lot would win quite convincingly, although I do agree that the Box or the Blacks would be a better fit than the wallabies.
In the 13 man version, the league team would win very convincingly.
The total number of points for each team over both games would be determined by which 40 minutes were played first.
In the end, nothing would be proven and unless a shed load of cash was raised for starving orphans, the entire excercise (like this thread) would be a waste of time.

| Quote ="nickcat0"Whilst I believe each team would win their own game ............. Kangaroos v All Blacks/Springboks would be much better/exciting games with both sides containing the cream of their respective sports.
The Wallabies are a poor side and would be more of a match to the French RL team.
By the way, from your name am I to understand that you're a Saints fan
from Fleetwood
'"
You know for a fact that the roos are the best rugby side of both codes so don't come on here saying that the all blacks or springboks would give them a game cause they would'nt.
P.S we all know that Fleetwood are gonna win the league

I'll actually agree with you that the Roos are the best team in either code, but whereas they'd put 50 or more points on the Wallabies in a game of RL, a match against the AllBlacks/Springboks would be much closer, and the RU team would even score a couple of tries.
And **** off with your Fl££twood predictions

Well, it depends on what NEW rules the IRB let them play to every year. The recent 72-65 was apparently played with a "tackling optional" clause

If they want to survive it will continue to morph into a game more like League. What tickles me is that the Southern hemisphere used to moan about Englands rolling maul.....so they tried to change the rules. When that didn't work, everyone moaned, so it is again allowed.
I think it was the Western Force last week that caught the ball at a line out and then had their full back, wing and 2 centres crash into their rolling maul for a try. That's 12 out of the 15 in a massive pile-up......hardly entertainment is it

I grew up with it in Ireland (no league there) and played it to a fairly high standard in the shamateur days....I only watch it now when there is nothing else on, but I freely admit to trying to watch every Ireland game......national pride and all that.

Do you reckon RL could take off in Ireland.I remember a few years ago my team(saints) went over there to play a couple of warm up games.(I think).

They missed the boat a bit both during and after the last RLWC when we did well. That said, it has as much chance of taking off there as it has in places like Scotland and Wales and I am sure the RFL are keeping an eye on the game over there. As with everywhere else, Union is the code played by the schools over there, but I say an exhibition game (WCC anyone) or Magic Weekend would definitely be well received in Dublin. I believe the New Landsdown road will only hold about 50k......so it would sell out IMO.

There is no evidence for that at all.
As I have already said, all the evidence points to rugby league.
Keebra Park anyone?

The welsh school won the league tourney sooo..
Unions a bigger game, get over it.

Stick to distributing boiled lollies and leave the NRL talk to people who actually know something about it.

Until you can deal with:-
1. the Jim Lisle example 1962;
2. Keebra Park result (rugby league school defeating union schools at union by playing rugby league - it just gets funnier everytime );
3. 8 GP/4 HN union coaches from rugby league;
then don't worry about reminding us how badly you were shown up in this thread.
Cheers for the bumps boys to keep reminding, dickless, of his immense failure as an analyst on this subject.
Enter sound of crickets chirping...

I hope this game doesn't go ahead, why should the ARL help out a failing ARU, they wouldn't do the same for the ARL.

| It will never happen because the rah rahs would get creamed.
They have been running from these games for 100 years plus.
It won't change now.
As long as all income goes to charity and they get nothing from our involvement, I don't have a problem as it will allow us to give them the good flogging they so richly deserve...

| the last kangaroos vs wallabies game was in 1909
the 2nd lot of defections from union to league effectively meant the war was over and we had won.
players like chris mckivat all turned their backs on union for us
