Yes you won the GF but didn't 'win the league' in 2005 and certainly didn't dominate the league as you should have done with a FT squad up against PT players. Neither did you in 2007 when you came top of the league by a single point (although to be fair Cas and Widnes were a bit ahead of the rest, which as FT squads they should have been). The Cas squads from '05 and '07 certainly wouldn't have dominated the Championship over the last few seasons - if you took off your 'SL' tinted specs you might see that the 'top' Championship clubs, despite being PT, train considerably more and harder than they did then.

They'd have to sign near enough a full squad of SL standard players, have they got the money for that? A few more years in the lower leagues to build then when they've built a decent team challenging at the top of the championship then reconsider submitting an application for a franchise, for me it would be another Celtic Crusaiders spending money they didn't have to compete then going bust.

Toulouse arent in the Championship any more, Widnes werent ' dominant ' in the Championship but theyre showing a bit of promise recently despite still playing Dave Allen in the team

But Widnes had players who were SL level so only had to add a few to compete. Toulouse would have to buy an entire squad. How viable would that be for a club like them at the moment?

If they had SL level players, how come they kept finishing 5 th in the Championship?

Didn't say anything about full of SL talent I said they had players with SL experience. And as you've said they've still got players there who played in the championship.

So surely we should accept that Toulouse will have some players already that they could use in SL, along with a few new ones, if of course they get the chance

Actually there's 10 players in the Widnes squad who played in the championship 10 players is a big part of a 30 man squad, so they've signed 19 players and loaned 1 in 2 years, Toulouse would have to go out and buy a full 30 man squad as currentely there not even good enough to play championship rugby.

I'm sorry, bringing in twice as many as they've retained (including I'm assuming youth players are included in that figure of 10?) isn't buying a new squad? Never mind that a good half of those they've retained are just depth players.

Seriously, any new team moving to full time have to bring in what amounts to a full first team, with the youth they already have.

If I were a fan of a SL club, I wouldn't have "expected" my team to be held scoreless (and never looked like scoring) for over 50 minutes, or for the scores to be level with 16 minutes remaining. the game could very easily have gone either way.
