| Widnes, a club who are two places out of the super league play-offs, only managed a 14 point victory against Doncaster, who didn't have their dual registration players available and are bottom of the championship looking at relegation to championship 1. Is the difference in playing standard between top championship clubs and bottom super league clubs really that big? Could promotion and relegation be brought back in? Will be interesting to see how fev get on in London.

| Sounds like a great performance from Doncaster! Whilst a big score line, Leigh put in a commendable performance at the JJB with three tries disallowed. They have put bigger scores on SL clubs already this year, and without doubt will again. Big games for Rovers today and Batley tomorrow!

| All SL teams should have to play away in the 4th round.
Pretty much every Wigan fan I've spoke to wishes lasts nights game was at LSV.
They'd still have won confortably, but there would have been a bigger crowd and a closet game.
If fev v London was at fev I'd make them favourites.

| No surprise.
Widnes were mid table mediocrity at best when they were in the championship.
Good job being good on the field is irrelevant in licensing

| Widnes did not have Hanbury,Marsh,Dean,Phelps,Cross,O Carroll,Hock,Allen, and Cahill who be in the starting 17 if all fit and some rested.Widnes did not play there best and the win was never in doubt.Even Betts was upset with the performance and commitment.I think it was more of Doncaster raising their game as even their fans said best performance of the season by them.So your opinion I do not agree with to be honest.

The effort Doncaster put in could knacker them for the next game and it is a one off cup final for them.As I said Widnes played coasting to win.

| Its a cup final for one and a nothing game for the other
Get a good home crowd behind the lesser team, mixed with a little emotion, some luck and you may get an upset one in ten.
Other than that there is a huge gulf, particularly if it was week in week out.

| Take one or two players out of the lesser SL clubs and theres not much difference between SL and Championship teams. For instance take Chase out of Cas and Cas are probably on par with a mid to top end championship team.

I'm sorry but that's just wrong, when we were in nl1 both times our squad was far worse than atm, and we won the league both times. I watch the championship and its hardly got any better in standard if at all since 05 and 07

| London have just defeated Featherstone Rovers 24-12 (5 tries to 3).
London area local prodigy Kieran Dixon scored a brace, as did Luke Dorn.

| Bradford got to the League Cup Final in football, beating Arsenal, Wigan and Aston Villa.
Do i therefore ask the question how big is the difference between league 2 and the premiership (or champions league in Arsenal's case) or do we sit back and congratulate the lower league team on raising their game for a 1 off game.
A one off result is not enough to draw conclusions from (just look at the attendances thread, 1/3rd of the way through the season and people are still arguing that you cannot read to deep into what its suggesting)
I would be interested to know that if Widnes played Doncaster 100 times how many do people think Widnes would lose?
I would suggest less than 10.

I was told by a reliable source that this was disgust at a Superleague get together, however only a couple of clubs were up for it, namely Leeds and Wigan

Really? I could have sworn Whitehaven finished top of the league in 2005.

| 7 games completed so far....3,655 average attendance. 25,588 fans so far.....Hull FC being the only real shot at another big gate.......the RFL need to take responsibility for marketing cup games more.....Hemel Stags gave up home advantage to get a bigger crowd.....only 2,500 bothered.
fans staying away from games is a worry......

| Last year when Fev beat Castleford and then had their tough game with Wigan it proper drained them. Fax went on to tank them on their own ground the week after. Such performances cannot be sustained by a PT squad in a FT league.

| It's total nonsense to speak about the gulf between SL and the Championship.
CC clubs have only a fraction of the S/C to assemble their squads and many of the players are only part time so, of course there is a gulf.
The real point is that, if there was promotion from the lower league, could these teams then be competitive, to which the answer is an obvious YES.
It takes a few seasons to get up to speed and to encourage the extra supporter numbers but its certainly possible.

| The London v Fev game played out as expected. Fev came out of the blocks well, completed 100% of there sets in the first half and got to London's 20 with ease then ran out of ideas. Second half was all London.
