Despite the fact you tried to lay out the Dad's Army 'gag' again as Perth Red - did you actually read any of the posts? What I took from that thread were a) he's always had great talent, b) he's at his best with the right half-back partner (i.e. hopefully Holdsworth), c) he'll go well in SL, and d) you're jealous as f***.
I'm looking forward to next season. Are you?

| According to the HDM we agreed terms with Shannon McDonnall ages ago so he will probably be full back. I'd go with Lineham, but I suppose him and Crookes will be on an even footing atm, depends how preseason goes. I would also expect Heremaia to be in rather than Pitts. Or possibly Whiting for his utility value. Other than those I think thats about right.

| Well this thread went well for JB didn't it
The only people commenting about Hulls 'older' signings are Rovers fans. The only time they should be worrying about our older players is when there contributing to Hull's whitewash of victories over KR next season. We've signed Ellis and Price who are both world class players and no one can deny that. Yes their coming to the end of their careers but they'll do a great job for us.
Wheres as KR have signed a couple of NRL players who have made about 4 appearances each all season or going to be banned for 12 games. Oh and someone from Bately, Brown? Oh and apparently SL's fastest man! Well done on your recruiment drive!

| whitewash? We've been hearing about these easy points since we got promoted, not quite worked out that way has it?
Yep I'm looking forward to HKR's season next year, we have had a clear out of the old timers and those not up to it and got some younger players in. We won;t challenge I'm sure but be good to see some fresh blood. Point still stands, you have spent a signifcant amount of salary cap on 3 players at the very end of their careers. Good luck!

Yep and that is why we will hopefully be able to mount a challenge, a team full of youngsters like you say would not be good enough to challenge at SL level all teams need experienced season players and we have certainly got that. Gentle bloodied some good youngsters last season and I am sure he will blood a couple more this season.
Your opening post was pathetic most teams in SL would not say no to Gareth Ellis or Scott Prince

You mean Liam Watts, Scott Taylor, Blake Green, Ben Galea, Shannon O'Donnell and Louis Sheriff?
This is a great thread.

I don't think many NRL teams would have turned down Ellis.

| I'd love Saints to sign someone like Prince. I've been saying we should be approaching Hornby, who's just retired, to see if he fancies another 12 months.

Ellis is probably in the top two backrowers in the world along with Thaiday imo and you think it's a poor signing? Are you really that deluded? As for Prince, yeah obviously he's not as good as he once was. But 'if' he sign for us, I have no doubt that he'll be one of the best halves in the league. Hull haven't had a top 7 for years now, he's just what we need. Like I said it's always Rovers fans bringing up our signings.
You really should be talking about the poor signings that you've made to replace the better players who've left you.

Lol, Eliss was rated 79th in RLW's top 100 behind about eleven other 2nd rowers! Whose the deluded one?

I know its dangerous to get in the middle of a lovers tiff but, if Gaz Ellis is only the 12th best 2nd rower, i'll start watching football.
Out of interest who are the other 11 ?

| Ellis and Prince, regardless of age, would add class to any SL side imo. Manu to us will be a massive loss to them, but not a bad replacement with Ellis (who is 2 years younger than Manu)
Hull have had a promising squad building on paper for years but always seem to struggle, will be interesting to see if they can push for silverware next season...with the players they have coming in they should be up there
