The last time I checked, there weren't actually any York players in this years England squad.

| He just isnt going to make any unforced changes to the team that started against Wales,Heighington as done very little imo and should be dropped, put him on the bench.Sinfield wont be left out simply for his goalkicking alone,a stand off in my eyes should have pace to burn,an eye for a gap and a good pair of hands,Sam for me he`d frighten them to death, aint going to happen i know, saying that this is the best team from these islands i`ve seen for many a good year.

No they can't.
It's a good idea having a bench player who can effectively cover 1-7 without disrupting the rest of the team. In high-intensity Test rugby injuries are more than possibilities. Look at the mess NZ got into when Locke went off and they had Beale at FB, Brown on the wing and Glenn at centre. When Slater got crocked Australia had Luke Lewis wasting on the wing. The last thing we want is Ellis moving to centre and Hall to fullback or whatever after 20 minutes.
Anyway: Heighington to make way.

I'm not quite sure how that relates to my support for picking Jon Wilkin, but consider your apology accepted.

my pack would be graham,roby,morley.westwood.peacock.ellis. subs carvell.jjb.sinfield (to give roby a rest.).ablett.

It's undoubtedly a strong pack you have chosen (although Peacock hasn't played SR for years and is now 33!), but it isn't the right pack for this particular game.
You are swapping and changing the team far too much, and it would unsettle the team unit that has got used to playing as a unit over the last month.
Ellis for Heighington is the only change I would make for the Final.

| I'd have to drop Widdop, the rest of the team are in good enough form and the game time he has had up to now doesn't justify inclusion. Furthermore it's been a tough two weeks and I think it would be better to have an extra forward. Heighington is an easy scapegoat from the stats and the T-Rex missed tackle but he can break the line and has got an offload in him and we're going to need that.

You really havent got a clue .Peacock playing Prop/Second row really doesnt matter you still take the ball in regardless. The only difference is you pack down differently, and scrums have literally gone out the game now.So peacock could play second row.

Sorry, you can’t go around accusing people of not having a clue when they say that peacock can’t play second row. Second row is not about where somebody packs down, it is about their positioning and contribution in attack and defence. Maybe Peacock can take the ball in as a second rower but he wouldn’t add the pace and mobility in attack that Wilkin, Ellis, JJB, Heighington and Westwood offer and (far more importantly) he doesn’t have the mobility to defend wider than prop these days – he would be taken apart on the edges
Put it this way – Tim Sheens would love McNamara to pick Peacock in the second row

Tell McNamara to get 3 props on the park at once then and see how we get on.
And you have completely missed my point about a consistent squad selection too.
I really don't have a clue don't I?
I think I'll end this conversation with you now.

Wilkin is pretty good just outside the ruck area and coming into 2nd phase attack play, think thats why he always gets picked in the 17. If you want him to make hard yards then you can't pick him, but I seem to remember he has made at least one try scoring play in every match.
If you want Carvell in, it would be better dropping Morley, but that would stop Morley's 50th appearance, so Carvell misses out for me.

It'd be Heighington for me to miss out for me too. It's the first time I've really seen him play and to be honest I don't think he offers an awful lot other than 50 minutes of graft, something we can get out of JJB, Westwood, Ellis and Wilkin plus a lot more besides'"
I think a grafting player is exactly what england need! Leave the fancy stuff to sinfield, roby and wilkin, the impact runs and big hits to Ellis, peacock, carvell or Morley, and the grafting, hard work to graham and heighington!

| But Heighington isn't actually good at the grafting. He drops off of many tackles and is slow moving around.
Wilkin and JJB have not let themselves down at all. Neither deserve to be dropped.
Ellis in, Heighinton out.

| If fully fit, Gaz Ellis plays. One of the best back row forwards in the world.
Chris Heighington makes way - no brainer.
Jon Wilkin moves to loose forward with JJB on the bench.
Graham
Roby
Peacock
Ellis
Westwood
Wilkin
-----------------
JJB
Morley
Carvell
Widdop
Strongest pack we've had since the tournament began.
Wilkin offers more in attack than any other forward, something we may need. Strong defender too - I don't understand the stick he gets.
The rest are all no brainers, we must have two props on the bench. JJB has been so strong coming off the bench. Gaz Widdop should play to cover injuries/offer an alternative in attack should we need it. The Aussies will have Cooper Cronk playing the same role.
Very strong England side there. I'm looking forward to it.

Jamie Peacock receives some flack from sections of the England supporters, but this bloke still cuts it at the highest level - all on one leg too.
Look at his stats:
16 carries
127 metres
2 tackle busts
26 tackles made
0 missed tackles
0 errors
0 penalties conceded
He epitomises everything I like about RL players JP. Top effort.

| Going into the series, I questioned Wilkin's inclusion (and I'm a Saints fan who thinks he's brilliant for our club), thinking he's too lightweight for test rugby but he's looked pretty good imo.
Heightington, I had big hopes for, I'd heard tales of a real warrior who's a rock for the Tigers. I wouldn't say he's been awful, but he hasn't done anything that (for instance) Paul Clough couldn't.
I would expect the Banana to drop Carvell, as that is in line with his original thinking. I'd be tempted to drop Heighno the Rhino, since Carvell chipped in with some effective runs last week, although he did give away that silly offload.
