| Quote ="Jukesays"You'd think with Wigan breaking the number of Overseas players allowed Rules that someone, anyone, would have spotted it?
What's that you say? They're not Breaking any rules? What about the "Spirit" of the Rules then? There must be something we can get them with!
'"
That is right.
With Wigan, any rule is seen as a rule for other clubs, to keep them in check. Wigan do not see themselves as having to comply with the rules and look for as many ways around them as possible. It's ties in to the lack of morality they display on the field as well.
I remember all those years ago when the cap was introduced. "Wigan are given an exemption due to existing contracts", then they went and signed Andy Farrell on a massive new contract as well as David Furner, Adrian Lam, Matthew Johns, Jamie Ainscough and Craig Smith. The club is a joke and I don't know how anyone can support them.

Wigan have 8 overseas players, we'll have 7 next season. Hardly a world of difference, but both at least 2 too many.
The sooner these exemptions all expire the better.

As soon as the cap goes up in aus, super league teams will have less than 3 overseas players, and the ones they do have will mostly be rejects or young players trying to prove themselves.

| WTF....... Wigan make a move and theres more dummies spit out than ever.....
It would be great to see wigan do something that doesnt attract the bunny boiler type of disgruntled fans of lesser talented clubs......
Stop having a go we cant help having the best club in SL with all the best players in SL and being managed and coached by the best management team in SL just like we cant change the fact that we abide by all the rules and will go on to win everything this year.
Pick your dodo`s up and move on.

Nonsense, he's a new zealand and samoan international, how can you claim Hansen isnt an overseas player. Pat Richards plays for Ireland, he's still an overseas player.

| Every single team in SuperLeague has too many overseas players in their squad. They are all as bad as each other.

Pat Richards hasn't been with Wigan since he was 16. He didn't go to school in this country.

I understand you're outraged by Wigan's alleged overseas fixation, but you're clutching at straws if you're trying to count Hansen as a true overseas player. I'm not sure when his family moved to the UK but this is a lad who went to Moorside High School in Swinton from 1997-2002, played for Folly Lane (also in Swinton) as a kid, joined Wigan's Junior Academy in at least 2001 or 02 and made his debut for the First Team in 2004.

| That's shocking tbh. Considering the amount of criticism we got in the past, and how much Crusaders and Catalans get, why shouldn't Wigan receive any?

Hansen is not an overseas player, this is bordering on racism! If any black player decides to represent Jamaica in the WC qualifiers despite growing up in the UK all their life will that make them an overseas player? Hansen chose to represent Samoa, big deal, he's as homegrown as the rules get.
Leuleui i'd agree with being off quota too, if some kid wants to move here at 18 and work here all his life then thats fine, if he wanted he could represent England and would still have qualified for u20s by years.
