Because it should have started a long time ago, so making an example out of Cas is only not fair, but could land the RFL in hot water because Sky Sports News has footage of Salford throwing stuff onto the pitch, and I wouldn't be surprised if somebody has pictures too, so if Cas get a fine/points deduction etc, Cas could just gather up this evidence, ask the RFL why Salford weren't fined, and if the RFL again ignore it, they could end up in court.

No, I'm just going to take with a pinch of salt the opinions of what was largely a group of fans who had clearly been heard to be making drunken, inaccurate remarks all night and who were throwing bottles onto the pitch. Apart from the fact that nobody has backed 'Gaslight' up, that his information was second-hand and the fact that all the posters on the Cas board are saying that the bottle was thrown by a steward. If a Catalans player had thrown a bottle into the crowd, he would have been banned for life. You can't just go round making accusations like that.

I've also heard a steward threw one and it hit/just missed (depends who you ask) a fan, he was sacked and Wright said nothing else can be done because there's no CCTV.

Good on Cas for acting so quickly and sacking him on the spot then, hopefully if they manage to identify the people responsible for this they react in the same way and ban them from games.

I think people are going very over the top saying to dock the club points/play a game without a crowd - neither of them are going to stop the idiots doing it in the future.

Imagine this scenario in Hull? Such is the bitter rivalry, you'd get Hull fans dressing up as Hull KR fans (and vice versa) and causing a bit of "home" trouble just to get the two points deducted from their rivals. All they'd have to do is swallow a bit of pride and wear the opposition shirt

No Catalan player threw anything back into the crowd, a couple of players threw them to the side of the pitch, the bottle that went into the crowd was from a steward who kicked it back into the stand... and all this talk about it was the Catalan players who caused it is crap aswell, yeah they shouldnt have reacted to it at all, but there were a load of bottles thrown before any of them reacted.

That's a well reasoned out post and also explains why a couple of people thought it was a Catalan player who through the bottle back, but I think there's enough people saying it was the steward (who got fired and banned from the ground by RW straight away according to most accounts).

I wouldn't be surprised if it was the chavs that stand at the back of the WRE who just go to the game to get drunk and throw up in the stand

Most fans don't need telling how to behave, most of us know that to throw things onto the pitch is unacceptable, those who can't understand this then imo we don't need them involved in the game and if it takes banning a few idiots to get the message out then so beit.

At least I’m trying to do something rather than wait for others to do something. In fact I’ll be emailing my local MP tomorrow and see if he can help get this off the ground with some funding. I’ll also be getting in touch with the sky sports team via my sisters connections.
