I think they do. The funding is in place however I doubt Glover has seen the final plans so he can't really comment can he. However the outline plans are fairly specific.

All of this information is in the public domain.
The stadium will contain the playing, training and office facilities, the majority of which I guess will be taken up by WTW; there will also be a MUGA on the site, which is likely to be where community sports activities will take place. It won't be 'down to funding,' as the developer is already committed to funding the build as an enabling development for the rest of the site (hotel, warehousing and distribution) which is where they derive their profit. Any funding shortfall will be in respect of filling in the corners of the stadium and adding bells and whistles - Sir Rodney Walker has indicated that with a stadium built, he will make grant applications for those added extras.
You're sounding increasingly desperate - anyone would think you didn't want a £200 million investment into the district, creating 2000 jobs and state of the art sports facilities - all at a negligible cost to the WMDC taxpayer. Why would that be?

You can lead a horse to water....
Even Smokey had the sense to leave this one alone.

It is not the same as Salford or Leigh, because we are not giving up grounds we own to move into a ground we don't. We are moving from one rented premises to another.'"
Leigh didnt own Hilton Park, it was sold to Grundy hill years ago, we rented it but also ' ran ' it, we also kept all the profits from bar sales, advertising, corporate which was generally sold out because it was reasonably priced, now we struggle because we dont control anything
What I'm reading on here is very similar to what we were told, and what the Salford fans were telling me 2 years back

I would feel really sorry for you if you thought those two things were opposed to each other.
I know the vast one has already jumped in with both feet and made himself look a silly, again, you dont need to follow his lead!
Or to spell it out for you. Whatever I think Wakefields potential is, it isn’t were they are right now. The fact that Mr Glover has put a petrol forecourt roof on a stand doesn’t mean Wakefield have done anything that means thay should look down on other clubs. They were for a long time tinpot, run in a tinpot way by tinpot people like Vastys Teddy bear. Glover has made some steps in the right direction, and things are looking rosy, but they are a long long way from where they need to be, and they were even further away 9 months ago and could very very easily, and very quickly go back to the tinpot club with crowds, masses of overseas players in a stadium that is striving for tinpot.

| Im not ignoring it. I stand by it. Saying Wakefield were a tinpot club and putting a petrol forecourt roof over a stand doesn’t give you the right to have a go at other clubs isnt the opposite of saying Wakefield have the potential to rival any club in SL,
You may disagree with Wakefield being described as tinpot, you may disagree that they have plenty of potential, but saying a club is tinpot and not in a position to look down on other clubs does not mean that they have no potential to be better. Saying it does mean that simply highlights a failure in comprehension.

| ..... anyway moving away from the tedious oneupmanship that has developed on this thread, I was under the impression that due to the make up of the community trust, we would be paying a peppercorn rent.
Sureley if the trust is being given the stadium, then the only costs would be to cover maintenance/staffing and the matchday expenditure? Obviously this is not all that cheap but surely we won't be paying anything like what is happening at Salford as I believe they are "paying back" the cost of construction?

| I'm not sure any current club have the right to look down on one of the others.
The Bradford fiasco has proved that a good club can become a bad club in no time at all.
Wakefield have a long way to go but at least they are trying to improve and are improving.
Calling them tinpot implies you are looking down on them yourself so I'm not sure what point you are trying to make Smokey. Apologies if you explained that earlier, I couldn't bring myself to look through all the trail.

Blummin heck mate, no wonder some Cas fans get the wrong end of the stick. If what you suggest were the case I' be marching beside them as that would be grossly unfair. Why should we get it cheap, why should the ratepayers of WMDC subsidise WTRLFC we are a business not a charity.
Of course we are paying some of the construction cost and certainly the maintenance cost through the rent, what's wrong with that.
The deal and peppercorn rent is to benefit the Trust and thus the wider community. All we are making sure of is that we pay a fair rate, which having the trust as owners will be the case.
It's not our stadium and it has not been built for our benefit, just with us in mind as an anchor tenant.

The quote is from a different thread, where certain Wakefield fans were revelling in, and celebrating Bradfords troubles. Which I found a little silly considering Wakefields recent and current history.
That apparently, according to some, means that I have never thought Wakefield were anything. Which is blatantly not true.
Ill repeat what I have always said about Wakefield. They have huge potential, it is a large area, big population, with an RL culture and amateur hotbed. The Wildcats have been failed, for a long long long time by poor management, which left them as a small club, with relatively small attendances, a very poor ground, and a history filled with substandard overseas players, but with investment and quality management there is no reason that they cant be up there with the flagship clubs in this country and they should be aiming to make a new 12k stadium look unambitious.
