The trust pay a peppercorn rent, Wakefield pay a full rent to the Trust - whatever that may be. Hopefully it will be a good and fair deal but it will be far from cheap, we are not being given anything. Break even is what the trust want so yes another team would be welcome but as I say I reckon a round ball team will beat you to it.

The stadium will contain the playing, training and office facilities, the majority of which I guess will be taken up by WTW; there will also be a MUGA on the site, which is likely to be where community sports activities will take place. It won't be 'down to funding,' as the developer is already committed to funding the build as an enabling development for the rest of the site (hotel, warehousing and distribution) which is where they derive their profit. Any funding shortfall will be in respect of filling in the corners of the stadium and adding bells and whistles - Sir Rodney Walker has indicated that with a stadium built, he will make grant applications for those added extras.

You're sounding increasingly desperate - anyone would think you didn't want a £200 million investment into the district, creating 2000 jobs and state of the art sports facilities - all at a negligible cost to the WMDC taxpayer. Why would that be?

Or to spell it out for you. Whatever I think Wakefields potential is, it isn’t were they are right now. The fact that Mr Glover has put a petrol forecourt roof on a stand doesn’t mean Wakefield have done anything that means thay should look down on other clubs. They were for a long time tinpot, run in a tinpot way by tinpot people like Vastys Teddy bear. Glover has made some steps in the right direction, and things are looking rosy, but they are a long long way from where they need to be, and they were even further away 9 months ago and could very very easily, and very quickly go back to the tinpot club with crowds, masses of overseas players in a stadium that is striving for tinpot.

You may disagree with Wakefield being described as tinpot, you may disagree that they have plenty of potential, but saying a club is tinpot and not in a position to look down on other clubs does not mean that they have no potential to be better. ..... anyway moving away from the tedious oneupmanship that has developed on this thread, I was under the impression that due to the make up of the community trust, we would be paying a peppercorn rent.

Sureley if the trust is being given the stadium, then the only costs would be to cover maintenance/staffing and the matchday expenditure? Obviously this is not all that cheap but surely we won't be paying anything like what is happening at Salford as I believe they are "paying back" the cost of construction?
