Beat me to it Julian. News travels fast went your spending all day on the internet in the Equadorian Embassy.
Came out yesterday that Mason was on 95K at Hudds and Kopczak is now on 60K and Fielden 55K.
Whether Mason or Giants wins the case it's shed a light on the murky world of transfer dealings in which all clubs are probably not squeeky clean.
So Kopczak agreed to sign on the 8th August. The Catalans game that he failed to turn up for was on 9th Sept.
So he was tapped up and the compensation suggested by RFL was 20K.

Been looking at this case for a couple of days, from the evidence given, I do feel a tad sorry for Mason.
£300,000 is the amount I have seen he is looking to sue the Giants for.

That's right is the lost earnings from the remainder of his 95k a year contract plus testimonial money he had planned.
He said most earn around 60K by Richard Horne earned 100K from his. Celebrity friends Joe Calzaghe and Mickey Rourke lined up to host events for him.
The former Pugilist and Strictly COme Dancing contestant has been in court to offer support for him.
See Fielden under summons was giving his opinion on his current deal at Cas (1 year on 40 odd K). Given that they already hated each other this will be a good show down next time they play each other. |

Yeah think we should change the thread title to 250k for Kopczak.
Makes mason look a bargain at 95
Before anyone asks that's 170k compensation to Mason, 20k compensation to Bradford and 60k salary to Kopout. A quarter of a million pounds. Shame it doesn't count on the salary cap.

Mr Justice Saffman, in the Leeds High Court said
“I therefore have no difficulty in finding that the claimant has established, on balance, that this was a wrongful dismissal.”
So then awarded £167,000 to Mr Mason for loss of earnings and the court costs of £35,000 against the club.
The sting in the tail is that the terms of the of Damage Payment will be discussed at a further hearing.

There appears to have been some kind of brokered compensation deal which amounted to £20k on the basis the RFL threatened not to register him.
With Koppy now saying he agreed on August 8th, this is clear evidence he was tapped up and begs a some interesting questions.
1, Was there a hearing?
2, What was the judgement?
3, What was the evidence given by Kopczak and the Giants?

According to the T&A article both Kopout and Thewlis agreed they had lied to the RL in regards to when he agreed to move there. What punishment can the RL dish out to Shudds? Surely a points deduction and a fine is in order.
