Hopefully it is true. The reality is that he won't be anywhere near our starting 17 now so it's probably best for all parties.
This also frees up some much needed cap space for the future.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if this came off.
He was close to heading off there in the off-season but I think his contract had been a stumbling block.

Probably the best for both parties. He was never really going to get a look in this season and will hopefully get some much needed game time at Wakefield. All the best.

Could be something in this, talks in the off season, and wakey now seem to be in desperate need of a kicker from what I've seen. As others have said it could be a good move for all parties.

Where would he play? They've got Mathers for FB, Collis and Mellars newly signed as a centre partnership. Surely they won't play him at 6?
So presumably he's going as a bit-part utility player.
That said, he's probably going to get more game time there as injuries kick into Wakefields squad. So good luck to the lad.....

Agar hasn't approached us, but I wouldn't be surprised if Sykes' agent has been speaking to clubs.
Can't see him being happy as 6th choice centre, 3rd choice fullback for much longer.

| I for one am glad to hear we are not letting Sykes go - at least not yet
He's no world beater but he is a decent squad player in several positions.
At this time in the season we have no idea how potential injuries might affect us and we are not well blessed with cover in the backs.
It's a long haul to September so prudence (  together with Faith, Hope, [delCharity[/del and Constance) will be needed to retain a viable squad Justine case. |
