On the 14th May 2010 we went to Wakefield and won a hard-fought, but ultimately comprehensive, 29-10 victory.

However for the rest of that season we went on to win only one other game, once again it was against Wakefield.

This season we have just four wins.

That means in a calendar year of the last 12 months, we have only won 6 games against SL opposition in competitive matches. Three of those were against Wakefield, and we've also beaten Crusaders, Harlequins and Castleford.

That's the sum total of our past 12 months 'achievements'

I just wish we could play Wakefield more often

That sobering statistic makes me want to get Pi55ed.

Just to expand on that.

In your last 27 games (ie, a full season), you have 11 points (1 win in 13 last year and 4 and a draw in 14 this year).

To put that into perspective:

Wigan: 40

Crusaders: 20
Salford: 20
Quins: 17
Wakey: 16
Bradford: 11

I encourage you all to send a letter to the Club Senior Management Team with all these statistics to question what they are doing. I have done this, but haven't receievd a reply

I don't need to see any statistics to know that we are crap.

I'm sure the club management will have been completely unaware of this statistic and your letter will be the catalyst required to make them try and find a way out of our current predicament.

Even so, both the OP and the expander have every right to draw attention to the statistics.

In doing so, IMO they have focussed attention very clearly on the issue. To me, this is perhaps the most telling statistic we have ever seen on this forum.

If one of Adey's neighbours is on this forum, could you just pop round and check he's OK?

Alternatively, you could just type whinge / moaning comments on here, do nothing else and hope that there is a change around in events...........

Don't forget that when you do the above it needs to be in a brand new thread because what you have to say is more insightful than on any of the other 600 threads saying the same thing..........

Wakefield are utter shee-ite

OK, before this thread runs completely off topic, let me make a couple of points

First, this thread wasn't meant to be a 'whinging moaning thread'. It was, rather, an observation that I came to whilst pondering the sad decline of our much-beloved club over the past year. It was how I came to spot the 12 month scenario.

I'm not some latter day glory hunter supporter, having first stood on the Odsal terraces with my dad as a small child back in the 60s watching the likes of Berwyn Jones and George Ambrum. I've seen plenty of low points, including the season when we got relegated and spent a year in the (then) 2nd Division.

And unlike Terrace Singer I can't simply walk away and start supporting some other team - Bradford Northern / Bulls are 'my team'. It's a life choice. Simple as that.

So, you'll understand me when I confess to feeling as low at the moment as I've felt for many, many years about my beloved team. It's not that we haven't been crap before, because we certainly have. But the thing that makes this season different is that we were all swept along with the notion that it was going to be a new era. I certainly didn't expect us to be sweeping all before us this year. But I was expecting wins against lower placed teams and hard-fought competitive defeats against the top teams (with maybe the odd win!). I was readily prepared to accept the gubbung by Wigan in the first week as a new team waiting to gel. Like everyone else I was super-stoked by our stirring win against Cas. But, since then, its been all downhill. Far from 'gelling', we are looking less like gelling together, and more disorganised than ever. Even taking into account injuries, we're simply not seeing progress.

Yes, a good idea of how I'd imagine most Northern/Bulls stalwarts are feeling right now.

2005-2011=

1996 - 2005 = spending £millions more than ongoing income = heading rapidly towards insolvency

2005 - 2011 = trying to stop the financial rot and keep the ship afloat

One question it does pose though is what the hell you going to do if and when Wakefield lose their licence next year?!

Before 1996 the club was pretty much trying to stop the rot and keep the ship afloat too. Maybe this is the default position for Bradford unless we get a sugar daddy?

I've been going to Odsal since I was a nipper (first game in 1980) and agree that this is the lowest point in those 31 years. We seem to find a new low point with every season and I truly fear for the future.
