| With the teams of Agar and McRae struggling early doors after some weak opening performances, is it time for Noble and McNamara to return to SL?
IMO Noble is still the best British coach in the game (even though he is not technically 'in' the game). He's obviously been overshadowed by Maguire at Wigan but he still managed to take them into the top 3-4 and keep them there, with some good play-off performances. At virtually any other club than Wigan this would have been seen as acceptable. His record as GB/England coach has yet to be bettered by his successors (despite Smith's series win against the Kiwi B team) - have we actually beaten Australia since he was in charge?
McNamara has a lot more to prove perhaps, but was certainly at the top of Hull's most wanted list a few years ago. I'm not sure what he could offer that Agar doesn't at Hull, but a gig at Salford could be a relatively 'low pressure' opportunity for him to prove himself. He has the advantage of working with a fair few of the Salford players in his days at Bradford e.g. Nero, Godwin etc.
I also wonder if Brian McClennan will ever return. His record isn't shabby by any means. Still not exactly clear why he left Leeds, although so far the change seems to be for the better, although it is very early days.

| There isnt a coach in SL as good as Noble.
Everything Mcguire achieved at Wigan was on the back of the spadework done by Noble.

| Macca's already employed... if I remember rightly, his previous club let him take up his current role early before letting him leave to put all his efforts into making a success of it after results at said previous club dipped. From my recollection of media reports at the time, his new job basically entails spending a lot of time down under learning how to coach from the Aussies...

I am not saying anything about the fact that he was a fantastic coach while with us and we had a lot of success, but was making a small jokey comment about the fact that he left us in the s*&% and we still have not recovered.....

| He left us in the ? I didnt realise he was in charge of finances.
As far as I recall he left us as SL champs and a very strong side which was dismantled bit by bit by Macca. Thats what I remember.

I would like to see Noble get a gig in Aus. I'm not sure it's possible to reach the peak of your powers without doing it at that intensity. Which is why I think Wigan are a better team under Maguire, probably with the advantage of better/more mature players.

| Brian Noble has signed a deal with Crusaders apparently as an ambassador. He is also commentating with the BBC.
McClennan has a job in Zealand with Auckland Rugby League as their development and coaching manager.
Steve McNamara coaches the England national team.
Out of those three the most likely would probably be Noble but I don't think any of them will take on any SL roles this season
