BullBuilder are delighted to announce their next event, which is called 'Meet the ref'. The evening will give you the opportunity to hear from a current Super League referee as well as ask him your own questions!
The event will be held in the Director's Suite in the Coral Stand at the Grattan Stadium, and will be held on Tuesday 7th September at 7:30pm. It promises to be an interesting and memorable evening and as you know, BullBuilder members can attend entirely free of charge!
If you have any questions for the referee, please send them to the address above or email info@bullbuilder.co.uk - we will ask submitted questions first before allowing questions from the audience as time allows.

We will know once they have decided which refs will be involved with the playoffs the following weekend. So the answer is yes, but I don't know how far in advance we will know! |

We had a similar event a few years ago with Stuart Cummings in the Touchdown bar (as it then was), who I have to say was extremely interesting. He gave a talk about refereeing, working with Sky and all the rest and then came question time. First question of the night was, "Does Russell Smith know the bloody rules", which, pretty much, brought the house down.

Best bit about that night was when Big Les piped up, with something like "If I was referee don't you worry, all the players would DEFINITELY do what they were told!" - and looked and said like he meant it!

Ganson came out and apologised for his mistake, at least be had the back bone to do so, unlike that horrible little creature Klein, Leeds would never have got the penalty if he hadn't illegally spoken to Ganson via his earpiece. |

That was, maybe, a slight worry with the earlier talk, but actually it went rather well. Stu Cummings (for all his faults ) turned out to be a very personable guy and a good, knowledgeable speaker and [ialmost[/i impossible to dislike. All the leading questions were met with a laugh, from both Stu and the fans present, so the atmosphere was actually superb. I'm sure the vast majority of fans will give due respect, because despite all my complaints about refs, I certainly wouldn't do the job myself, so they deserve that. |

| At the BISA event a few years ago, Big Les and Mick Withers both said that Klein was one of the better refs, as he continually talked to and explained things to and advised the players.
That was before Millennium Tragic,and we learned that he also apparently continually talked to and explained things to and advised the video ref...
I'm sure fans will give whichever Ref we get due respect - and that includes Mr. Ganson if he is able to attend since he at least apologised for that fiasco. ATEOTD, if anyone reckons they can do a better job (even than Child) I'm sure Rot Hall would be very pleased to hear from them.
But maybe its just as well Klein is no longer a ref in this country... |

Because they don't miss tackles, drop the ball, hurl it into touch, make elementary misreads in defence, shoot out the line, kick out on the full or make stupid plays.

Stuart but you were the one having a heated word with the MC at our last home game vs Catalans after Child did us to ruin in that first half.
We had every right to blame the referee, because he was hell bent on destroying the game. |
