...its too hard a call but with a lot of changes to our personell against a well drilled side who played outstandingly well for much of last season together with it being away from home i'll sadly predict that we will bet beat My guess 26-14 giants!

The Giants havent even played together this season I don't think so we should be more drilled with our lads having a good few runs together. I don't accept this 'gelling' talk, they've trained together for almost 3 months and should be really hitting the ground running. I think we will.

I just hope the performance is good and shows signs of potential. Obviously the win would be great, but lets not get the knives out if we do lose.

Looking at last season, this looks one of the toughest games of the year.

Well seeing as we've got Saints at home the week after i'd say it is a must win or we could be looking at being 2 games down with only 2 played!

Sorry, looking back I didn't really make myself clear. I didn't necessarily mean performance wise, just in the sense that the majority of our first team will have featured in 3 pre-season games against SL opposition whereas a fair few other clubs have only had one, and some have even had none. IIRC, Hudds' will have only had 1 as a team by the opener ?

Should be a good game all round, was impressed with ourselves in our 1st run out this evening against a full strength Cas team.

Bradford have strengthened and cannot be as bad as last season so will be very interesting, Sky cameras are there and we are pants at home in front of the cameras.

On the other hand we owe you for last year and suppose you feel the same.

But ATEOTD if we are to push onto the next level now from last season it is a game we have to win.

I will not be making any predictions but may the best team win.

) came away with the points.

Adversity is a funny old thing within team dynamics. "Everyone's against us" / "people think we'll lose because of . . ." can stuff a team up . . . . OR make them stronger as a unit, IMHO. It'll be interesting to see how recent alleged events up in the north east effect the Giants. I sincerely hope it doesn't do so adversely.

Agree with BP - should be a good game. Big ask for us: first game out, completely new personnel 6, 7 & 9, away against a side that finished so far above us last year and is certainly no weaker this year (off-field allegations aside), so I'd suggest if we pull it off it will be a fair achievement. If we don't, as long as its close and competitive throughout - and we don't see any of last season's unacceptable capitulations, I'll not be too upset.

Bloke who used to captain the team I played in, when you were out on your feet, knee deep in mud, getting hammered and struggling to breath always used to come out with "C'mon lads, dig deep. One more for Meg Mortimer!"
