Bradford Bulls have announced that second row forward Glenn Morrison will leave the club at the end of the season.

Morrison, who joined the club from Parramatta Eels in 2007, has made 49 appearances for the club, scoring 21 tries.

Bulls Coach Steve McNamara said today:

"Glenn has been tremendous for the club both on and off the field and it goes without saying that we wish him every success for the future. Decisions on player's futures are ongoing and the decision to not to offer Glenn another contract was purely a business decision made, we feel, in the best interests of the club".

Really not sure how I feel on this.

On one side, he seems quite injury prone lately and you don't wanna be paying someone who's not playing.

On the other side, when he is fit, he's a super quality player.

Just can't decide if I agree with the decision or not.

I guess we'll have to see. It's a tough decision.

I wish him well as he's given his all for us while he's been here.

Do you think this bit might suggest he wanted more than the club were willing to pay?

If that's true then the club have made the right descision IMO

I really wanted him to stay but in view of the time he has been injured over the past couple of years I feel that he should have stayed on reduced terms.

A tough but correct decision IMO.

Salary should be apportioned to other areas, i.e. backs.

I personally am gutted. A player who never gave less than 100% in every game, a natural leader on the pitch. We could do with a few more of his type.

I hope he is not off to join another SL club, I wouldn't want to be up against him next year.

If he goes to another SL club and remains injury free for the whole season then we will have well and truly made a cock-up. It's a real toughie this one, it could be a good decision by the club, but I hpe it doesn't prove to be bad judgement.

With Newton, BJ, Morro, Solomona, Tupou and possibly a couple of others going, we should easily be able to afford a quality half then hopefully a centre, even with the signing of Hall and L'Estrange.

I can only assume that the club has someone lined up, hence the cutting of some expensive players.

But, I'm prepared to be disappointed...

It's a shame to see him go, but he's had at least three serious injuries that I can remember so far in his Bulls career. The chances of him lasting another season without getting another one are pretty slim imo.

I'm sure another club will find a place for him and wish him all the best.

Positives to take from this are that this probably means more game time for our young british players who would have been kept out of the team by him.

Alternatively it also frees up a quota spot for next season should the club choose to bring in another overseas signing.

Don't be. Danny Brough, a centre and a winger to replace Semi will all be coming. Semi will be in Union next year.

How you going to find the transfer money for an under contract player like brough when everyone knows every spare penny in Braford coughers has to go to Leeds???

The right choice IMO

For me it had to be only one of Morro and Menzies and Menzies is far better. He will give the guidance / mentoring to the young kids.
We've all been saying there are too many backrowers at the club, so we shouldn't be surprised by this really.

Shame to see him go. I personally would have prefered to see him on the coaching staff as I think he's got a lot to offer young lads coming through the ranks in terms of experience and passion for the game

Its a testament to the player that nobody is suggesting his leaving is anything to do with ability or form. The ONLY reason anyone is giving, and quite rightly so in my opinion, for agreeing with him leaving the club, is his injuries. Even the monetary reason is really based on the fact that he's been injured (since personally I'd be happy for him to be the top earner providing he could stay fit).

Such a shame that anyone may remember him for being injury prone when he should be remembered for the top player he is/was for us.

Hope he does well wherever he goes. Just rather he was injured when it comes around to his new team playing against us!

Sad news this but unexpected if I'm honest, I'm sure there will be one or two superleague teams after him.

tend to agree with that. latest injury was a bridge too far imo. if he stays in superleague he will be a player who comes back and causes us problems. However the cap and quota space are probably better spent in other areas of the team than the forwards.
