I can't watch the game live on Saturday and wondered if anyone more technical than me (which isn't difficult) knew how to record the red button, where I understand the game is being shown, in the Sky Planner?

Im having the same problem being at work till 7.Ive just contacted sky and they say that even if the red button is pressed recording still isnt possible>you will get a message on screen.Im sure ive done it with the football tho on a saturday night when ive selected my game from the red button .

I once tried recording one of the football games on the red button and a message said it was only possible to record the main game.

Sometimes they will give an option to record on the red button. You can see this by pressing record on the listed programme and it then gives you an option which one to record.
However this option isnt currently available for Saturdays game. Keep checking but if it doesnt appear then there is no way of recording it.

If you've got the "sky go" app, can you "press the red button" when watching on your ipad?

Option to record the red button is now available on the Sky TV guide, press select to choose between union game or Saints.

no not really. Do i need to go to a specific channel to get the red button? I don't have sky or virgin etc. have no experience with it whatsoever.

You can't tape it if you don't have sky, that's what the match is being broadcast on.

obviously need sky. so i go around to parents and never mind. I'll google it. easier and should have done it in the first place. should have known that asking for help would be pointless etc.

I'm sorry I have no idea what you're talking about.

My best guess is you don't have sky yourself but your parents do so you're going round to their house to record it. If that's the case then you need to press 'tv guide' on the remote then go to sports. The first channel you'll see is Sky Sports 1, press the right button until 'Live Rugby Union: RSA V WAL' is highlighted, then press select. You'll see two options and one will be Catalans v St Helens. Highlight that option and press the red 'R' on your remote.

Instead of pressing select you now need to press record to get the options in the tv guide.

how many of you will want to watch or rematch that? ouch.
