All those with the numbers 1 to 17 on there backs. We can't blame Nathan Browns tactics because we didn,t play anything tactical for almost the full 80 mins.
Can,t remember a performance like that, showing no pride in the shirt.

No idea what Nathan Brown's tactics were, unless they involved giving the game to Huddersfield.
The forwards definitely. They were soft and lazy.

The forwards have to take responsibility for that tonight, destroyed from start to finish. The line speed was so slow it was laughable, and I lost count on the number of times a Hudds player ran in, bounced off a Saints tacked and offloaded, and Brough and Robinson were attacking and kicking off the from foot all the time. Quite simply unacceptable, and I for one will not tolerate a performance like that.

It's Meli's fault

I would bring Gardener back he would be able to show Meli and Makinson how to tackle and run the ball in hard, and more importantly show them the meaning of effort.

After one game fault has to lie with the players. If it carries on we all know where the finger of blame will be pointed.

Heres a suggestion to the current crop of players. Read the hefitage site, then read it again, then reflect on whether their performance both individually or collectively was reflective of what they've just read. Then make a conscious decision to train harder, work harder and be more demanding of myself and that of my team mates and accept nothing kess.

If the coach is reading this then read it twice. This being the case you're a true Saint, the debacle that was on show today was disrespectful to the history of our great club and you should alk feel very ashamed.

Fix it and fix it soon, there is no other way.

It's one very bad game, not a run of 7 or 8 games. If we win the next 10, 50-0, that will not suddenly make this team champions either.

Didn't notice the ref, to be honest, but that is probably because Saints were so outstandingly gutless.

The pack have to take the blame for what happened last night, destroyed from the first minute until the last. The line speed and aggression was non existent, and look feared to death of confrontation. Laffranchi is a second rower being asked to play prop, Puletua is work shy and lethargic unless we are 20 points up, and Josh Perry retired before he had put his head inside a Saints shirt. If the lads give 100%, and put in everything they've got for 80 minutes I have no problem, but to lie down and die in the manner they did last night is quite simply unacceptable, and I for one will not accept that sort of performance. Last night was an embarrement to the club, and they deserve all the stick that's coming to them.

Take nothing away from Huddersfield, their forwards ran in hard with so much more aggression than we did, and when they got into dangerous positions, they used an offloading game that we quite simply couldn't handle. Brough and Robinson were kicking and playing on the front foot all the time, and the pressure Wellens, Makinson and Meli were under was ridiculous. We had no field position whatsoever, and Lomax and Gaskell had no platform to create anything.

The fact that certain individuals couldn't even face us lot in the West says it all, a couple came close to the 20m line, but not one of them looked us in the eye after that performance. I expect to arrive at the Stobart next week to see a Saints team biting at the bit to get out there and prove a point - and that's exactly what they have to do.

Has he played Prop before or is that a NB decision because that is what killed us last season. We played Gilmour at prop so much so they he considered retiring and said he had stopped enjoying playing RL until he went to Cas.

We then played Dale Ferguson ( 2nd row ) and Faiumu (hooker / LF at prop.)

You can tell how bad it was that Baloo signed 4 props in the off season. Mullaly, Fielden, Kopczak and Ta ai.

and i expect Widnes to really up their game for us, the Wigan B team will want nothing less to pile the hurt on!

for the huddersfeild game:

the forward pack got well and truely battered
the halfs looked like they had no clue about anything when it came to a 5th play option, kicking game was average
outside backs slow, no communcation with each other

line speed to slow, slideing defence didnt slide or tackle, 1st & 2nd markers cant remember the last time i saw them as lazy the yards being made around the ruck were soft and a mick take, every time we worked ourselfs into a good postion lazy work around the ruck cost us.

im not really worried about the season, just wish we didnt like this. if anyone ever hears me boo my team off the pitch punch me.....disgreaceful

The players are to blame. Even if the tactics were wrong etc etc there is never an excuse for a lack of effort. Poor show

Noticed a lot of people blaming the forwards but you defend as a team and our edge defence at times was appalling , Brett Ferres especially just tormented us, the line as a whole was like a dogs back leg the line speed was basically national league level as was some of the tackling technique on show.

Far too many average players in the squad these days. The halcyon days of 2006 are dim and distant memories.

Brown, was he the best thing since sliced bread? Give him a chance! That’s unless he says he wants to go home again. I remember a time (not so long ago) when a lot of wire was saying Smith out! but now look which part of his body is emanating the sun.
