I hope Saints hurry up and get some signings announced. Walmsley would be nice for a start, but we need more. I really though we might get this guy.

It's all well and good if we get him on cheap deal but we need a stand off ASAP before any postion.

By all accounts even if we do sign Walmsley he'll be spending next season on loan back at Batley.

I will look forward to more second rowers at prop next season then. Surely it would make sense to keep Walmsley at the club full time next season, what with it being his first season as an actual full time player.

It's funny isn't it. McManus and his media cronies make out we're doing all we can and the more sycophantic supporters roll out the 'there isn't anyone available on the market' line. Then the other clubs go and sign players in positions we're in desperate need of.

Ta'ai and Holdsworth would have solved our problems and both have moved this week. We could have released Hohaia, I'm sure one of the NRL clubs would pick him up.

There's plenty available, we're just not willing to win a bidding war. We have been ousted on NUMEROUS signings over the past couple of years by more ambitious clubs.

I realise that the stadium has eaten up a MASSIVE chunk of money, but now we have got it we cannot take our eyes of the ball with our recruiting, but it seems that we have. If we continue to play the way we have this season then attendances could drop.

I do remember Eammon saying he would relinquish control of the club once he had delivered the stadium. I am not asking that he go, without him there probably wouldn't be a new ground. I am more interested in who would take over? Freshen up the playing squad with money to spend maybe?

Yes. Rogues has watched him since the age of 7 and says he's a mad Wigan fan. Now that he's said to be signing for Saints Rogues claims he was never any good.

As far as props go, it would be nice to add another one to the ranks but dont think we are in desperate need of one. We have got Perry, LMS, Laffranchi, TP and Clough who are all capable of doing a solid job there, and also Magennis and Forster who can come in if necessary. Rather than buying a prop just for the sake of it that isnt necessarily better than what we already have I'd rather concentrate on other areas unless a vast improvement becomes available.

I would also expect Lance Hohaia to be a lot better overall next season, he came over to a new team and was played at 1, 6, 7, 9 and sub in his first few games which would have made it harder to settle in. I think he has got better over the course of the season and will carry on improving to see how good he really is next year. I think another year with Lance at 6, followed by moving him to 1 and bringing Gaskell (who should be more experienced by then) through to partner Lomax would be a good move

The main position I would like to see us strengthen is centre, we have always been able to attract top class centres and looking at the past list of names such as Newlove, Gibbs, Iro, Gleeson, Talau, Lyon, Gidley etc were all top drawer. These players were major strike threats and I think next season, especially with the mouth-watering prospects of Sia and Manu in the back row, to add a quality centre to feed outside of them would make a huge difference to our team.

Lance hohaia wont be in the halves next year, I'm pretty sure of that.

Our centres next year will be Jordan Turner and Josh Jones - Jones in particular is a really exciting prospect. I'd be disappointed if we signed a centre who took his shirt after his form this season. He's going to be a good un.

I think a big, aggressive prop or a recognised gamebreaking 6/7 are absolutely essential. Preferably both.

I don't think Jones and Turner centre pairing will have teams worried to be honest. Jones is great prospect but still only young and Turner isn't even first choice at hull.

What is Turners real postion? (I only ask as I read a quote by him stating he prefers backrow)

I agree with Jones, he has looked very solid and deserves to keep his shirt. But the point I was making is that when you look around SL, most of the top clubs have a quality strike centre who can score tries and create for wingers and we havent had this since Gidley went. Turner is an exciting prospect but has shown at Hull he isnt the finished article yet and could possibly benefit from learning the trade from a top class centre

Jones & Turner would make 2 centre's. Much more concerned that we dont have a proper experienced halfback

If Lance is playing in the halfs next year, people will give up before we get started. I'm all for giving a new guy time to settle in, but I think we have seen the maximum that Lance is capable of at Halfback and whilst it's a good effort, it's not good enough, not due to his lack of effort, just a lack of ability. Slot him else where and he'll be fine. But we need to re jumble the players into proper positions not make shift roles.

Then fill the holes that are left.

Perhaps it's more financial reality rather than lack of ambition.

The club claims it's spending the full cap, it's just not doing a good enough job of it.

I have my doubts we are spending to full cap. Last year pryce, graham, eastmond and Moore left the club, I bet three of those was the highest paid plsyers and we've brought in lance, Laffranchi and flanaghan.

I know we gave lomax, Gaskell and foster new deals but we still offered jammer the biggest salary in the clubs history.

We couldnt of signed the Kiwi guy anyway as we are full on overseas/non fed
