If the pies weren't already envious of our new ground, the Saints have announced that the North stand will contain a specialist Pie shop.

The pie flavours are as follows:-
Just Steak
Minced Beef & Onion
Leek Cheese & Potato
Chicken & Mushroom
Potato & Meat pies on their own at £3

or with mash, potatoes and peas or gravy for £4.50.

Now i have had those Steak pies before from Peters and they contain a bit of a kick.

Chicken and mushroom and a pint. It's all good.

Now I just pray there isn't a 50 foot queue for said vending outlets.

There shouldnt be as there are plenty of bars. Just depends how quick they can serve. This will itself depend on if they have multi pouring machines for the great unwashed who drink Fosters.

Had a look round tonight. The ground for speccies is great no bad views.

Not sure about how the open nature of the ground will work atmosphere wise.

The concourse however is a load of blame claims if its wet.

If its crap weather youll get a soaking getting a beer at some of the bars.

Food wise if the pies are the same as the catering tonight distinctly lacking.

3 quid for a pie is heavy in a town which has a pound bakery doing 2 for a quid.

oh i see from the headline i thought wigan was opening a club shop at your new ground

Maybe that's the difference between having a shop that trades 50+ hours a week compared to one that trades for about 3 hours a fortnight, economies of scale and all that

Pimmies Pies taste absolutley nothhing like Pimbletts Pies did.

When was the last time you had one? They're definitely a lot better than when it first started out. It's an identical product mix isn't it and certainly tastes as good

If people want a Pimmies pie, they are advertising that their place on Jackson Street will be open before/after the match tomorrow night.

It still rankles that Pimmies are gone forever and replaced by a hollow mockery that abuses their illustrious name selling utter ****. I still pray that someday someone will duplicate the original recipes and my beloved steak and meat 'n potato will live again, but I somehow doubt it...

Blimey , mention pies an you have to beat the Wigan fans off with a big stick!! , the concourses are mostly continuous except for a part of the South Stand but i think the catering outlets will be selling some of the pies anyway

You should try them again. They're much better and akin to what they should be now. I haven't tasted the steak but I imagine they're as good as the meat and spud.
