Unless there is a big money man in the wings then administration looks likely. As does players going unpaid.

£1000from 144 people. Would be tricky to find in these days.

I kinda feel sorry but clubs never seam to play within their means. Even at Saints we are one chairman away from administration.

This will only change when the RFL drops the salary cap and imposes a break even rule. Clubs break even or they are out. That will take away the up ward pressure to go for broke or bust.

Everyone wants success but this demand for success means owners pile up debts against the clubs to bring it. Then when it does not happen and the owners move on the debts are left and the club flat lines. A break even rule would mean that personal loans from chairmen would not be a way to boost revenue as the club would have to be able to afford the repayments and turn a small profit.

Chairmen could still put money in to bring big name players but if the cost of the player was more than the club could bear with its income. Then the player would have to be paid personally by the benefactor therefore leaving any kliabilities with the ambitious individuals and not the club.
