Gaskell and Lomax seem a great pairing.

Jammer by plenty. He was inspirational.

Makkinson was determined not to by outshone by Richards today and he did awesomely. Times this season Gaskell has still looked like a boy but today he stepped up and played like a senior player.

Gaskell and Lomax - linked well in attack, and everywhere in defence.

Makinson - really ballsy display, especially after a poor start when bundled into touch. I loved his tackle into touch on Carmont - Carmont clearly thought he had an easy beat there, and Makinson had none of it.

I'd have given it to Lomax, as he looked a real danger, but couldn't argue with any of the three above and the usual sterling efforts from Jammer and Roby.

Lomax' best match for Saints yet. Thought Makinson was good, but not MOM.

Makinson calling Carmont a when he tried to take him on the outside was priceless

Gaskell was probably my MOTM - his best game for the S. In a game of high pressure and intensity, he played like a seasoned professional.

As for Jammer - his defence in the last 10 minutes was out of this world. Boy he will be missed.

Jammer for me his work rate was unbelievable and he geed up the team for most of the match.
Thought he was going to flatten Vomkins in the 2nd half, but Vomkins chickened out and passed to Richards.

What a difference it makes to have a forward pack manning up, few dropped balls, hard work in defence and halfbacks who have some experience!

What a match. Fabulous performance by the lads. I KNEW they could do it!

One match does not make a season but jes as he gets bigger faster and musclier he's gonna bust some defences as well as work around them.

Lomax has to be knocking on the door of England selection, who is in better form than him right now?

If the England side was picked on form then lomax would be 7 but I think brough will get the first shout at 7 for the first game.

I'd like to see how many tackles Jon wilkin got thru today.

Broughs form has been terrible of late!

Lomax by a mile; not just for his attacking prowess but his defence was s8it hot.

The wire will be/are after him to replace briers in 2013.

I couldn't bear to lose another of our stars to them, not after already seeing Sculthorpe, Graham and most recently Puletua jump ship to join them.

To be fair, there were a lot of people of played very well tonight. Soliola, Wilkin, Makinson.
Tony P took a while to get going, probably due to coming back from injury and we didn't flow down the left with Meli/Foster as we have done in the past.
I thought Roby played an intellegent game from DH and pushed us around well.

I don't think we can underestimate the impact Gaskell can have on our side though. The sheer distance he gets with his kicks and the steadying influence with ball in hand is very impressive and his kick through off the floor in the first half was a lovely bit of ad-lib - almost Tommy Martynesque.

Jonny is Saints through and through. If we offer him a good deal he will take it, even if Warrington's is a bit better.
